Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I miss that bike - to date, the best riding bike I've owned or ridden.
I hold high hopes for my current project, which has the same Columbus EL-OS tubing, and is a "proper" size for me (no more mile of seatpost with radical drop to the bars) 62.5 c-c....
The frame is still in transit from Europe. 1990 custom race build - it'll need a little refurbishing before I build it up.

Building the wheels this week, and have most of my build kit on hand - going Chorus 11.
Wheelset will be H Plus Son Archetype on Record hubs (both black) with polished Sapim cx-ray spokes and alloy nipples. Should be a good ride. I'll post here for scrutiny when I'm done.

all this for heavy steel. Get yourself some Ti.

I have a NOS 3TTT Evol stem on hand, and NOS Nitto M106NAS bar coming from Japan. I'm open to other options for sure. PM if you'd like - we can take the conversation off hot-r-not

I just think your bike is ugly. It's the "Not" poster child. Hodge podge of mismatched parts, a stack of spacers... just remembering it makes me throw up in my mouth a little, but have fun dropping 50 year olds on it, or whatever you do.

I know that many think of Ti as a "forever" frame material, but even if the bike is an uggo, I wouldn't drop anything heavy on the frame, let alone a 50-year old.

Ha, Good I'll be sure to post more pics so you might choke on your vomit next time. You are just making me like my bike more.

Look I could call any chinese carbon made frame chinese cookie cutter crap and I wouldn't be wrong and, but it would just be my honest opinion. I could call any steel lugged frame a boat anchor, and I could call a colnago frame for what it is, a steel boat anchor that's nicely crafted, but doesn't measure up to a nicely crafted Ti frame that is much lighter.

So considering that I can do that here, your opinion is fair play and within the boundaries of the thread guideline. You give fair reasons that have been pointed out already without the vomiting of course. I guess you lose control of bodily functions as you get older. I will keep dropping 50 years olds and guys like you every day of the week especially the ones that claim to go 27mph "sitting in." What I think this is, is backlash for making fun of the retired group claiming to go 27mph sitting in. It they are going 27mph sitting in, and they are all 50 and up, that means the guy up front is pulling almost 500 watts. No 50 year old is going to maintain 500 watts for prolonged periods like they were claiming. If I offended you for calling them out on their BS, I don't care. Just leave my litespeed out of this. All bikes are a hodge podge of overpriced chinese parts, stop drinking the koolaid.

But I will buy a new group as this drivetrain wears out maybe a few years down the road. I'm thinking full Deore XT mountain drivetrain if that'll make you vomit more lol.

As said in the first opening post, a "Hot" or a "Not" is all that's to be posted. This isn't a trolling thread, as mentioned, nor is it a "you're mean, so I'll be meaner" thread.

Straighten up and fly right.

Nice. But would be better with a more classic look crankset, IMO

I think American made 6-4 Ti bikes which have a superior level of craftsmanship and are essentially, works of art, should be exempt from baseless criticism. It's border line treason and something I have pondered calling my congressman about. We should be proud of American made bike frames. I've said my peace in that regard.

At the same token I don't think people should complain when I criticize a bike with blunt honesty as well. For some reason after I began being more honest and critical people start bringing up my bike again that I posted weeks ago.

Thanks, 100% agree. Donations of such a crankset (172.5mm arms, ideally 50/34, 11 speed compatible, BSA BB obviously) are graciously accepted. I'm done spending money on this bike.

should be interesting to read comments...

Handbuilt with Columbus Zona tubes. Ultegra shifting, Praxis Zayante crank, and Ritchey cockpit.
That 32mm stack of spacers is just reality, even though its built to fit me.
