i don't mind getting "not" feedback. if you see something every day, you get used to it eventually, so sometimes it's nice to know how it looks to a fresh pair of eyes. i'm not gonna go run and change my bar tape right away just because everyone thinks it's ugly; i don't care that much and it's not bothering me. but when it is time for a change, i'll probably pick something other than orange. if i can make it look cooler without spending extra or sacrificing functionality, i might as well.

It's a great bike - I know a lot of fellow racers who race them. Heck, there were Colavita's team bike I believe. Just compared to stuff like the $30k beaut on the previous page, aesthetically its at a disadvantage. So is everything in my stable most likely.

Presentation has a lot to do with it, and I'm guilty of slacking in that department. My S-Works E5 was rated 'not hot' based on a crappy cell phone pic I took. I photographed again using my work gear and lights (I moonlight as a photographer from time to time), and a few people said it was 'hot'. (it is a good looking bike in person I think). Point is, if you have a hot bike you can kill it with poor presentation.

edit: here's an 'after' pic of my E5:

mazda - that's a good idea. If I were more of a web programmer I'd hook it up. :)

Made a few changes since I last posted it. Mainly to lighten it a bit, but the red WW bits look nice too.
Same crappy camera.

Just bought this bike new a couple weeks ago. Less than 1/2 mile on it for testing purposes. Owner had it stored at Canada vacation home. Rode his other bikes never this one. I had the same bike but in a double. Brand new 2004 Cannondale R2000 Triple. Ultegra drive train and Ksyrium SL wheelset.

edit: regarding Robots bike:

Hot; because it's a Cannondale System Six, which I thought was one of the best bikes made and should never have been taken out of production. Odd bike out I guess.
Not; because of the yellow wristband on the seat post - ruins the asthetics of the bike.
Buy a Livestrong kit if you want to support the cause.
I was gifted one and feel absolutely fredly when wearing it.

This would be considered a CAAD7 frame.

I finally got around to finishing my Look 595 build. Well, it's not exactly finished, but close enough. I'll throw on the chain, cables, and bar tape tomorrow after work. I figured I'd post it in here anyway and take my chances with the tough BF critics. :) Sorry for the kitchen table background...I live in a small apartment.

Funny you said that. I had a team stem, but one of the ti bolts at the steerer clamp snapped at just under 5 Nm of torque. I contacted the seller and a replacement stem is on the way from 3T. When I get it I'm going to put the steel bolts from the Pro on the Team as I don't want to take my chances with ti bolts again.

No problem? Not really my cup of tea in the setup either but pretty amazing bike. For clarity it is a Pegoretti Responsorium, Full Record, Shamal Ultra Tubulars. The Shamal Ultras are amazing wheels...but the gold isn't for me. And of course no one on this board likes the stem/bar setup looking like that. :D

He bought this to tide himself over until his Sachs is built which is supposed to happen some time this year.

I've been a fan of C'dales since I bought a SR800 frameset back in '86. They are WAY over the top when it comes to decaling though. So are lots of other marques as well but C'dale might be the pack leader.

It seems to be part of the whole "in your face" trend in marketing and media storylines prevailing these days. I really dislike it but think it does resonate with our bored, materialistic, and directionless society. Just imagine what the roads would look like if it makes it to cars - holy rolling billboards.

Stock Caad9 just after new bars and tape.

That's one thing I like about my CAAD7 frame. It doesn't have all that excessive type all over it.

Bike is hot, photo is not. Get lower, shoot with a longer focal length from further away, don't frame quite as tight .

Hot.

Specialized Roubaix though, not. Bars are way too high.

Here is my current main bicycle:

Though the saddle has since been replaced with a Selle Italia SLR with carbon rails. Just a hair over 15 lbs at the moment.
