2011 Paris with Ultegra 6700 and EC 90 SL wheelset, personally, I think the bike looks fine, but not hot, I don't know what's wrong with it, any suggestions that can make it sizzling hot?

I think it looks pretty hot.

Remove the spacers, and cut the steerer, remove the wheel stickers, change the crankset, or possibly the entire group. White hoods would probably look nice on that bicycle as well. As you say it is fine, but those changes would make it hot, so not for now.

With a bike that nice it is just nitpicking at this point. There is always room for improvements and that is what most of us were offering.

There's a general reckoning amongst BF regulars that Shimano cranks look like giant octopi. I personally think the 7900 cranks look great, but everyone has their own opinion :)

current ultegra and dura ace cranksets are a pretty piece of machining but as a bike part they are ugly. they do not visually blend into most frames.

DropDeadFred 11-24-11 08:34 PM

7800 cranks look better the 6700 are nice too. I hate the look of the 7900

M_Wales 11-24-11 08:48 PM

I love the look and feel of my Ultegra 6700 crank..

ruskko 11-24-11 08:49 PM

performance over looks anyday!some very close minded people dont understand that, they rather they have a bike that looks good but rides like dog poop.

thirdgenbird 11-24-11 08:57 PM

cannondale, lightning, red, rotor, and campagnolo cranksets all look better without sacrificing performance. besides, this thread is heartless and shallow, in these pages: appearance>performance

VA_Esquire 11-24-11 09:54 PM

I wish people would comprehend this a VANITY THREAD. We don't care about performance......

Understood, they are not my favorites but look decent on this bike.

Ah. From that view it looks really odd, but the pics on their site explain a lot.

Love the bike!

I usually try to be nice, but this crosses the line for this thread.

Remove the spacers, yes, change the entire group, yes, will consider swap out for ?Sram Red, cut the steerer, no, I don't keep my bikes long, I will sell it, remove the wheel stickers, no, I think it is better to sell the wheel then buy another pair.
I agreed with someone mentioned about too many logos, it is too much in your eyes thing.

The bar is a standard Most bar with integrated stem, I agree with you on the wheels, I may find something else when the budge allows.

Surpised nobody picked up on this. Your saddle height should have nothing to do with your ability to touch the ground. If you can get both feet on the ground your saddle is definitely too low and you are inviting all kinds of knee problems and also riding in a very inefficient position.

ruskko 11-25-11 12:56 AM

im thinking more and more that its a chinarello and not a pinarello.

What? You are new and already have another bike with SR11 that is a Colnago and don't even klnow how to ride? At this point, you need to worry about more important stuff than how your bikes look.

Agreed, I just want to have some fun, I enjoy putting bikes together and take them for a test ride, I am learning how to ride more effectively and professionally.

It is not a chinarello, it is the real Pinarello Paris, I bought it used but in pristine condition for a good price.

When I reach a sudden stop, I like to have my toe touch the ground for balance, also for get on and get off from the bike.
