C'est drole...tres drole!

Only way to keep the white handlebar tape white is to....

...just not ride her.

Not hot.

Harsh...very harsh.

I had just finished a solo 75 mile ride where I had to deal with a "swarm" of goatheads. Three flats in those 75 miles.

I promise, however, that my Soigneur will get right on it and get that saddle and tape looking brand spanking new. :D

I know you REALLY like the bike, go ahead admit it...it's OK.

How is it harsh? the title of the thread is hot or not... so I made my vote, and even gave the courtesy of explaining why I voted the way I did.

iit_architect 09-17-11 04:30 PM

I'm in the south suburbs at the moment, ride the trails there as well as in the city :D

Seriously, it is not a problem.

If it gets too grimy, I just wrap new tape.

All handlebar tape gets dirty. Only one that does not get dirty is black. Black handlebar tape does not have, in my opinion, the visual appeal that other color tape has.

I prefer to worry about how well the bike rides and not whether the tape is a little dirty.

It is all about the ride. :thumb:

Tongue in cheek dude, tongue in cheek.

Why are you being defensive? A couple of pages back, how many people ripped on my single speed? What was my response?

you might be interested to know that you can clean many types of handlebar tape with rubbing alcohol and/or soap and water..

It is all about the ride
this thread is all about appearance ;)

I'll try that. Thanks! :)

My latest build:

2010 Cervelo S2 56cm

http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6087/...656bc3f6_b.jpg

I know the crankarms and valve stems aren't in the proper "41" positions :D but I was in a hurry to finish my bro's 08 SLC-SL build right after my morning ride.

I don't think you get it.

I am not being defensive.

Just stating the fact that: A. Once the tape gets too grimy I will replace, I do buy it in bulk and B. All things considered, I prefer to concentrate on how well the bike rides/works and not on whether the handlebar tape is dirty.

Peace out!

It's hot during the Obama administration

adriano 09-17-11 09:06 PM

Hot....not a huge fan of the Cervelo, but that one looks very clean

You got a point Vice. @eja, in this thread no body cares what you do about the tape. Grimy tape, NOT HOT.

Not hot just based on tradition violations. I love Shimano but a Bianchi demands Campagnolo...or at least silver parts. And what's with all the anodized parts? The 90s called and want their parts back. And you vastly overdid the celeste color scheme. Put normal hoods and tires on and you'll be doing much better.

Also, for your next photo, it would be great if you put it in the big ring and bothered to clean your saddle and tape for the photo.

+1 and would add raising the seat and slamming the stem to get some saddle to bar drop.... even if it does not fit you it will look more like a racing bicycle.:p

Meh, it's not a racing bicycle. It's a comfort bike, judging from the long wheelbase and tall headtube. I'm just saying that if you want to sport Bianchi style, don't screw it up.

Forza 09-18-11 08:56 AM

While we're piling on...the bike stand should used on the rear wheel. Don't want it to go crash/boom ;)

sure :) if you do it regularly the wrap will stay looking pretty new. once it gets a lot of grime it takes more work to get it clean looking
