zatopek 10-29-11 03:19 PM

^^^^^ Definitely hot. And, I don't even like the look of Specialized bikes.

I generally don't like the proportions of big bike (I wonder why ) but this one looks right and hot.

bianchi10 10-29-11 03:31 PM

I would say hot. Even though I am a big fan of specialized bikes, there is something that looks off. I think it is the black seat post since everything else frame/stem is white. Perhaps a white seat post or a black stem/stack? still hot though.

climber7 10-29-11 03:32 PM

best thing about that allez is the logos. it only says each thing (specialized, allez, and E5) ONCE (or at least, once on each side). that's how it should be done - nice and simple, not plastered all over the place. wish they'd go back to that, and that other manufacturers would take note.

also, ahson - nice setup.

1940 track Paramount restoration using vintage Campy Record/Nuovo Record components instead of the prohibitively expensive original Schwinn components.

The simple background contributes to the composition of the bike. :)

Hot.

And I do agree that it could be improved just a bit... maybe its the white stack and stem. Needs a bit more contrast to break up the components a little and give them some edge.

Had a minor change over the weekend, after I found a crack in my handlebars. Decided to go with a 3T Ergonova team bar. Then changed the wrap to Fizik and put a -17 degree 3T ARX Team stem.

What do you suggest to do with this pic. Affix to an envelope like a stamp and send it to England.

Really really nice machine. Classic looks and beautifully restored, but I can't call it hot. I am too much of a fan of newer road bikes. However, this reminds me of my first road bike - which I loved and rode to death (literally - killed it in a crash).

Syncmaster 10-31-11 09:43 PM

Can I play? I built up a Nashbar AL/Carbon frame a few months back and have fallen in love with it. Shimano Ultegra has been a dream.
Since I got the bike I upgraded tubes and tires, handlebars, pedals, saddle, seatpost and I just received in the mail today Kinlin XR-200 rims and ultralight hubs from bikehubstore.com that will be built up and save quite a good amount of weight from my current Mavic Aksiums.

Started at 18.5lb, now around 17.4lb. New Wheelset should bring the complete bike with cages and computer to the 16 range. Thoughts?......

Honestly with my goofy body, and the tall head tube on the CR1, it actually feels more comfortable than it did with the previous stem.
