AH crap... Ok guys be gentle. I'm a novice with a low budget project (my first bike). Bought this in less than good aesthetic condition so the only things on the bike that are still original are the front and rear derailleurs, the frame (of coarse), and the brakes and bars (new tape). The parts that I bought were a small upgrade from the original parts and as times are hard, I can't buy a high end bike so I had a low budget on the upgrades. Did all of the work myself and made some adjustments with some help from members on this forum. I actually like the older bikes better so I am happy with this one. Well here it goes... Oh yea. No bottle cage because I ride with a hydration pack.

Not at all in so many levels.

Good call, seeing as the red paint is just covered with black electrical tape and the red bar tape is loosely wrapped over the real tape...smart crowd here!

It also needs either the silver crankset, or the black shifters and RD

This could be hot, but you're gonna get grilled because of how you photographed it. ;) Take all the attachments off the bike. All bags, lights, ect. and then photograph it against an even background in even shade.

Thanks for the tip but evidently it's a "not". Wish I had the money to put together a "hot". But I am still learning anyway so thanks again. This reminds me of when I got my first guitar. Some ****ty acoustic off of ebay. After a while I found my self with several thousands of dollars of high end music equipment but it took 5 years. Maybe I can start buying quality bike parts and in 5 years I can put together a "hot".

Look at some of the quotes above - it's not about cost of the bits, it's about style. Hell, there's this Schwinn Caliente that I sometimes see in my neighborhood and everything just works on this particular bike - saddle-to-bar drop, the rotation of the classic curve bars, lever placement - it all comes together in clean, beautiful lines.

First, it needs to be photographed better. Instead of standing closely and shooting with a wide angle, stand further back and zoom in. Look at the relative size of the front wheel and handlebars vs the rest of the bike - what you have here is the equivalent of putting a wide-angle lens in someone's schnoz and having their face look disproportionate as a result (the huge nose syndrome).

With S-works dominated page, I'll post my bike with some changes from last time!
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-V...2B17.11.17.jpg

Next year, I'll be getting tubulars, new saddle, and slammed stem (I already moved my down after I took this pic). I'll post a new pic once all that other stuff comes in

Ah. Well if thats the case, I have more to learn about than I ever imagined. I consider myself an artist in many areas, but i never thought of a bike as art. Hmmm, interesting. I think I will start over with a different bike. I'll post to this thread again in a few years.
