The cranks are staged in my pic - they are lined up with the seat tube. Wheels - meh, I got lazy. ;) Honestly if people photograph in even lighting against an even background, with the chain on the big chain ring, and no extra crap hanging off the bike I'd call it a win.

I hate to say it, but that Trek is hotter than the Soloist. |

Alright, I'm ready to be judged...I think it's borderline.
I know the uncut steerer isn't ideal, but I don't think it's too bad in this case. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...r/DSC00792.jpg |

AH crap... Ok guys be gentle.
http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/...e/IMG_0624.jpg Oh yea. No bottle cage because I ride with a hydration pack. I think the problem is that you're going for something like a hipster fixie look--- middle of the road old '80's bikes are much better off with practical but high quality bits from bikes of similar vintage rather than the cheapest chinese new stuff. The main party foul is the cheap stamped metal matching black bits that you bought for the bike look like they could go on the cheapest wall mart bike. Here are two of mine. Just a sora jamis w/some fun carbon bits on the day I got home with it, and my old $40 hi-ten panasonic. Posted here b/c I think that it's best not to get into the Hot-Or-Not rat race and better to just have things that do their job well without pretension. Maybe I have the same taste in women-- look natural and great, but aren't making a big deal of trying to do so.... http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/b...n/Bike/004.jpg |
I'll put my cards on the table...
Built the frame/fork this July 650c wheels http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/...o/DSCN1244.jpg Colnago Mix(yes the rear tire is flat and hasn't been setup yet. Just built from another bike) http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/...o/DSCN1242.jpg |

Thanks, um I think. It's a good riding bike. 30% chance of rain today. Just put in 30 miles on the Trekster. Got sprinkled on a little.
It's also in one piece still. RIP Ezmeralda, my fallen Soloist. |
