I say hot.

James1:17 12-21-11 11:35 PM

most definitely hot

zbo2amt 12-21-11 11:40 PM

not

Harun 12-22-11 12:11 AM

with silver cages, white bar tape, and white housing it would be smoking hot, right now the color coordination is a little much.

I like the old-school tubular wheels though

i agree with some clean white bar tape

Seriously, you people are proving me right about how lacking the assessments are growing. Gaucho777, you have been found in violation of the code dealing with chains being located on the outer ring. The first 9 posters somehow missing this gauche mistake is a sad reflection on the state of affairs.

Thank you for posting this fine example of steel. You doubtlessly already know that there is nothing that should be changed on this bike. Including the bar tape which is representative of the style of its time and will never be out of place on this bike. It appears you ride it as well. Hot.

gaucho777 12-22-11 03:16 AM

^Thanks. Though it's definitely getting a change of tape this winter. I'm heavily leaning toward Benotto tape. I'll miss the extra padding, but it looks oh so cool. I'm torn between red Benotto (which is what most of the La Vie Claire team used) or a blue/yellow harlequin Benotto job--though that may be bordering on clown bike. ;) Might also put my black Bernard Hinault turbo saddle to use.

My bad on the chain.

miyata man 12-22-11 03:44 AM

It seemed you bypassed the workmanlike look on this or I would have suggested the red Benotto tape. LOOK still uses that La Vie Claire Hinault color scheme to great effect and I have considered buying one of them new.

Here's the Moots...just finished...it's an older 6/4 SL frame that has gone thru a few different build iterations but the rest is new.

moots is very very hot.

rat fink 12-22-11 12:44 PM

Wow, that is truly stunning.

sbxx1985 12-22-11 12:50 PM

Nice work with the Moots. You have three really nice bikes.

MajorMantra 12-22-11 01:29 PM

Hot indeed. I'd prefer straight black tape though.

psuaero 12-22-11 01:45 PM

Truly HOT Moots... how does it ride? I've heard good things from a friend that rides a Vamoots and one of their Ti MTBs.

miyata man 12-22-11 01:46 PM

I really like the fork on this one. Very few companies make or rebadge a matching fork on their ti bikes, instead leaving you with a silver bike and black fork combo. Sorry to say it but maybe the next version of this one will excite me more. Something makes me want to say it is the wheels that are skewing my perception more than the consumables like bar tape. The comparison to a svelte woman in too clunky of shoes comes to mind. A not very strong not for this one.

I debated it for a while...I always use black carbon deda tape but wanted to try something different. I liked the way the grey on the tape went with the Ti.

I've had the frame for years with various gruppos/wheels and it rides great. I've always loved it. I haven't had a chance to put this incantation through the paces yet but I don't expect anything other than great.

Some of that old ti magic still lives in that frame, huh.

Hi,

Been lurking as you folks discuss the merits of Hot vs Not. IMHO, anything by UCIMZ is hot. The Moots in its current configuration is hot too. Later.

save10 12-22-11 03:08 PM

IF Corvid - Very Hot.
