i wouldnt worry about it. the blue isnt that bad and the shape suits the build very nicely. i think traditional black cages will look out of place.

Perp 10-04-11 05:43 PM

Well I might eBay some cheap carbon cages - I don't like that blue either on that bike. But I still love the bike! Rode it today as I haven't been on it for a couple months.

Dangerously under-branded, probably not even safe to ride.

I will take this bike apart, the frame is too big, the reach is fine, but it is too tall for me, I am 5'10", the frame is 57.

Not hot.

Hard to be hot with a mile high stack of spacers. I don't really know anything about Raleigh brand bicycles but it looks like they took a page from the Trek decal handbook. That bike has 12 Raleigh logos on it.

Raleighs are the most underrated bike on the planet. That frame will get up and go like a scalded cheetah. I'd buy one in a heartbeat. Having said that, you'll have to do something to get in into hot territory. It just looks very off the shelf and the spacers don't help. A red saddle might help - maybe get some metalic red KCNC spacers, metallic red Nokon cable housing, and metalic red Planet X brakes. That'd be smokin'...

On the contrary, the colormatched pinkred tires and tape already overdo the 'red' theme when combined with the bright aluminum wheels.

This bike needs darker colors to be hot.

ravenmore 10-06-11 10:48 AM

Dude - take it outside and do some decent photography on that thing. It looks like it is hot - it deserves better pics to do it justice.

thirdgenbird 10-06-11 10:51 AM

I don't understand the fit comment. If the reach is right keep the frame. A shorther one will just result in more spacers. Buy your bike so it fits when your feet are on the pedals, not the ground.

I think it cold be hot with a few changes. I vote black tires and tape too.

Raleigh has lost their way. Like Apollo, Schwinn, and others......uh oh....

Most people don't know what's going on with Raleigh, including me until I worked at a bike shop that carried them. They have some crazy good bikes. Their high end carbon road bikes (like above) are awesome. I want to say it is one of the stiffest frames tested.

The stem ruins it.

We appreciate your medical condition, but it doesn't make your bike hot. As a matter of fact we couldn't care less about what works for you. This thread is all about vanity. Lower the stem, take a pic, post here, then raise it again to suit. Instant hot!

I also meant to suggest black bar tape and red hoods...

I love the simplicity of this frameset. Tacx cages were a great choice.

Flip it and lose the bag.

Thanks.

A flipped stem may look better but I like my bike the way it is... it fits well for me. Once I get a proper fit at my LBS we'll see if my bars are too high... or too low. :thumb:
