Big not on the Red cranked thing up there. I'm sorry, I just can't take a bike without a front brake seriously.

Incorrect. The other criterion is to let people vote Hot or Not, not sit back while they go into a diatribe about how the bike is hideous or a farce.

You know who got all elitist and condescending? Hitler. Are you a Hitler? Are you here to destroy the abominations that aren't elite level bikes? I really hope not, because I don't think the world needs another Hitler, maybe a Chuck Norris, but most definitely not a Hitler.

I thought the point of this thread was to be elitist. Actually, I thought that was the entire point of being a road cyclist.

I thought the entire point of being a road cyclist is to hang out with other dudes in sweaty lyrca. Guess I got into cycling for all the wrong reasons.

Commodus 12-20-11 01:34 PM

Why not just ban yourself now?

Terry66 12-20-11 01:38 PM

Wow...who would have thought Hank Jr was a cyclist?

Why? My point was that being "elitist and condescending" does not make you an anti-Semitic fascist any more than it makes you the POTUS.

LOGICK ONE 12-20-11 01:55 PM

POTUS?

Person Offering Their Unsatisfying Sex?
Prude Offspring Tasting Unseasoned Sodomy?
Popular Overweight Teenager's Unrelenting Sadism?

And thus the 41 collectively proves once again that any over the top statement must result in angrily dragging all semblance of rationale deeper and deeper into the gutter until any valid points are lost. He made a sincere effort to photograph the bike but deep down I think he knew that his subject was no beauty queen. Not because it was cheap and poorly made up, but because it was undeniably part of the great unwashed masses. The point that it could potentially get a "Beauty Shots" makeover is completely irrelevant since in the right hands a Walmart bike could be transformed into an unrecognizable form that made it past the first glance.

Pardon me for trying to reestablish some modicum of a standard before this turns into the Gong Show for the upwardly mobile.

a.)guys chill. seriously.
b.)you're all way overthinking this thread and taking it waaaaaaaaaaaaay too seriously.

At the end of the day does it really matter what some faceless poster on some random bike forum thinks about how your bike looks? If someone says not. Just deal with it. It's seriosly not worth the rise in blood pressure.

justkeepedaling 12-20-11 02:27 PM

I agree, it's not a big deal, it's not like anyone's posting hipster abominations

UCIMBZ 12-20-11 02:30 PM

I was the same way till when I had about 500 post count. I have quite matured and learned since then.

If you do, I will emergency evasive, arm photon torpedoes, and fire everything. To Commodus, I agree, I already said, putting the bottle cage on the downtube, mounting the CO2 under the seat with tape, and a front brake would go a long way. Cheap, easy, and would greatly improve the looks and function. Nevertheless, it looks like he uses the bike, and that is all that he would or maybe even should care about. That being said, I'm all for good looks and excellent function. I have realized after riding with a friend that there is a niche market for ultra rugged functionality. Going down Marview Way at 40 mph on broken asphalt and ridges is something I wouldn't wish upon any superthin Al or ultralight (under 14 lb) carbon bike

I couldn't have put it better, myself. But I'll try . . .

You combative, argumentative people are going to stop this ridiculous squabbling right now. There's no reason for it, the concept here isn't that serious and isn't that difficult.

This thread was here before a lot of you even joined this forum, and I will NOT allow you to destroy it.

I suggest some of you get some thicker skin, but if you can't take the heat then DON'T POST YOUR BIKE.

This is an official warning . . . infractions for Disruption are next. Be nice or be gone!

BillyD 12-20-11 05:58 PM

Oh BTW, some of the negative comments are WAY over the top . . . you're entitled to your 2 cent opinion, but let's not cross over to abusiveness.
