Damn, this bike is HOT!
Matter of fact, it's the only hot bike on this entire page.

That Argon has got way too much sh-- going on that says "I'm a triathlete!" for my taste. For instance, there are the butt rocket water bottles, and some kind of appendage on the aero bars for eating and drinking. And there's that heavily nose-padded seat that just says "come here, Speedo!"

On the non-correctable side, the head tube has a lot of trailing material that may or may not have any aerodynamic advantage. On the correctable side, I am troubled by the vast amount of spare steering tube and spacers above the stem.

I too find fault with the compact crankset for a TT bike. I find fault with a 53/39. I like to see the A-Type crankset with some 177.5s or 180s. I'm running a 55/42. Big wicked Dura-Ace 7800 like some insane surgical tool. That's the Shi-- that Will Kill Them.

Lastly, what's with the Argon name? A heavy nonreactive gas?

But yes votes on the black and white Cannondale road bike, the vulgar Purple Rain Klein and the Oakley Cannondale MTB.

I guess it was my mistake to enter a workhorse in a beauty contest. As for the "butt rocket" a cheap cage mounted back there will eject a bottle. An Arundel Dave-O has not and likely will never. The cage between the bars is regarded as a very convenient spot for a bottle-and the most aero. Since I'm doing 2-5 hour rides in my aerobars in a place where it gets plenty hot, those pieces of Tri-geekery come in pretty handy. As for the saddle, you don't appreciate the beauty of a Cobb saddle till you've been in an aero position for 3 hours and can still feel your junk.

As for the steerer tube, yeah, I need to chop it, and my fit is what it is. Kinda hard to run a half marathon if you can't stand up straight after the bike leg, so I gave up some bar drop for comfort. So far it's been a wise move.

If I want to scream "I'm a roadie" I've got a pretty hot bike for that too, so I don't really have a problem with this one screaming triathlete.

But you're right- in the traditional roadie sense, it might not be seen as hot. A nice demonstration of the utter pointlessness of even caring in my mind.

ljsense 02-07-12 12:46 PM

Yeah, who cares -- the point is to ride it and have it work for you. But in terms of "hot or not" in a roadie forum, it didn't exactly send my heart racing. But who cares. I'll post a pic of my bike so you can tell me what about it sucks.

It's all good. Ride it and enjoy it.

I took one "correctly" from a bike standpoint but the camera missed focus and the bike was a little fuzzy. :)

Well, at least he got the crank arms positioned right:thumb:.......but it should be on the small rear cog when he puts the chain on the big ring!

NOT! I wouldn't go with a white saddle with that set up. The Saddle to bar height ratio makes is a no no. bottle cage on the back-no, never seen a saddle bag position like that but I dont like it.
