So this is Jure, the guy who built my post combo, well this is his bike he built. The Slovenian TT National Championships were yesterday, and he took it there to show off his work. 6023g with a full Force group, and heavy, bars, bottle cages, and pedals.

Downright impressive.

Good looking, but not hot (lots of spacers under the stem, big saddle bag in the picture).

Silvercivic27 06-11-12 06:30 PM

It's a great looking bike!

Thanks....I bought a Roubaix as an alternative to my Cervelo P2C. Needed a bike that is more relaxed and comfortable for long rides with groups.

I plead guilty on the spacers - my aging inflexible body! The seat bag is a Specialized mini-wedgie, not sure i could go any smaller and get anything in it, maybe looks bigger in the picture http://www.specialized.com/us/en/ftr...gs/mini-wedgie . Thanks for the feedback guys!

Nope, that's a sick backdrop with how the lighting plays off the texture. Bike is Hot.

The comment wasn't really about the size of the bag just the fact that you have it on your bike. This is the hot or not thread and not the this is what my bike looks like when I ride it thread. There are very strict guidlines for posting pictures or you will get flamed. I didn't make the rules.

The 'rules' really kind of evolved over the course of the thread. I think seat bags and other accessories do take away from the bike visually. You need them of course for a ride but if you're going to present your bike for show it needs to look its best.

Oh, and don't take this thread too seriously. It's all subjective opinion anyway. ;)

Lung Doc - Don't take it seriously at all, in fact, it's mostly nonsense, but nonsense is allowed when the only thing people are looking at is whether or not a bike is "hot."

As for the spacers, don't let that get you down either. You have two options. Get a custom bike with a headtube that will allow for no spacers, for CF, probably a few grand, but you can strip the parts off this bike so you don't have to buy those, and you can sell this frame to offset some costs. ;) Or you can ride the hell out of a great machine, knowing that it's not utterly and competely "hot" by every BF standard.

BTW - Somone is also going to tell you that you need to put the chain on the big ring.

Great purchase, great bike. I'm sure you're going to love it.

mpath 06-12-12 04:51 PM

Yeah, don't take this thread to serious. Bikes are set up for poses here only. If you want to simply post your bike pic, there's a seperate thread for that in the sticky. Lots here in the 41 are OCD/pedants/anal retentive types. My own pet peeve is seeing an enviable racing bike with a stack of spacers....in this thread. Like seeing a Ferrari with whitewall tires.

Thanks for the feedback, and the humour. I survived internship and residency in the days before the self-esteem movement, so I certainly can tolerate some good natured ribbing from the BF faithful :). My riding speed is also sufficient to let me know that this bike is far more capable than I am, if I got anything hotter the risks of being a complete poser would definitely outweigh any bragging rights.

My Trek Madone. An 08'. Not in the big ring, I know (actually, my chains falling off..haha). Seat angle's a tad off right now too. Anywho, proper photoshoot soon-ish.
