I dig the fuji and the mismatched bartape. I say, have fun with it. Did you paint the bit on the saddle pink or did it come like that?

Jeremy_S 06-24-15 08:56 AM

I like the mismatch too. I have a hard time remembering faces when everyone is in a helmet and shades but I remember bikes pretty well and that one I'd never forget.

SempreCycling 06-24-15 09:29 AM

I like it cuz it's different.

I just used nail polish to paint the Bottom Bracket as well as the Prologo seat clip. Used to be black and say Prologo.

Not because it's not all black ... the mismatched bar tape is just ... meh.
Go full blue to accent the the rest of the decals on the bike or go full pink to highlight your nail polishing efforts - either would look great but mismatching just detracts from both aspects either of which independently would make the bike look great.

not

I'm caught between vintage and not-really-vintage, so I'll just leave this here. Have at it.

It may not be a fancy new bike, but it's not without its charms, and evidently well taken care of, which is saying something.

DrIsotope 06-30-15 06:50 PM

I just hope I lined everything up right.

While none of these bikes are carbon race bikes that normally get the hots in this thread, I can appreciate all of them as they all look well ridden and cared for by people that appreciate bikes.

Great mashup of parts, my only complaint is the hood placement, but that's purely aesthetic. I know you though, so I'm probably bias. All of your bike builds are fantastic.

I'm always partial to Fuji's because it was my first bike. This one looks to be stock for the most part, so it'll be nice to see it as you switch out parts and what becomes of it. Gray and orange frame is fantastic though, lots of cool things you can do with it.

My biggest complaint is the chainring, but I'm guessing it's stock so I give it credit for looking that nice and being such an older bike. Most people wouldn't give this bike a second look but I appreciate how much you've put into it and how much you've cared for it.

Not huge on the red tires, but the rest of the bike is fairly toned down, so not too bad. I'm getting into older bikes and I dig old cannondales.

If you're trying to be the crazy "line up everything correctly guy" change your spoke magnet so it's hidden by the seat stay when your valve stem is at 6 o'clock so it's not visible in photos. :)

I think it is hot. Front tire is not centered with the valve if you are going for nit picking. I like everything else though.

Jeremy_S 07-09-15 05:38 PM

One more part to add this weekend and I'll post it in the thread of hate and let it get ripped apart lol, just waiting on my ultegra crankset. As it stands, it's an ultegra bike minus crankset, carbon bars and seatpost, selle italia flite carbino seat, Hutchinson fusion 3 tires 25mm, tokyowheels 38mm carbon clinchers, and Blackburn carbon cages.

I call it poverty hot 👌

It has potential. Saddle looks nose down and, even though I know some insist they're functional, I'm not a fan of the ergo handlebars. Not sure why you call it poverty hot. A full carbon frame with Ultegra is above the poverty level - at least where I live. :)

Jeremy_S 07-13-15 05:28 PM

I haven't set the saddle position yet, I just switched saddles again and thanks to an infected sweat glad, I haven't been on the bike since the day I got home and posted this picture. I'm not supposed to "exert" myself until it gets cleared up so that's my excuse. Saddle will be right once I can get on and do 50+ miles at a time and adjust as I go to get it where I want it.

The bars, I'm not sold on them yet either. I love them in the drops but I cannot get comfortable on the hoods.
