Dangit hahaha, I had just flipped them back over from cleaning them up and making some small adjustments on the Rd's to keep them smooth and didn't think to set them back in the center for pictures.

As far as the oval wheels, I'll probably replace them eventually. My first Fuji had 327's and they were over 2000g with skewers. The Altamira came with 527's and they're still heavy at 1720 but not AS bad so I'll wait a little while. I'm in pretty good shape but not near good enough to justify trying to save 300 grams to make me faster at this point. Right now I'm what holds them back by a long ways.

That's the thing it looks a lot more extreme than it actually really is. With some reach and bend it's actually really doable.

The fact the fact that it's doable, comfortable, or practical for someone or a few people doesn't make it any less extreme. It's extreme because most bikes aren't set up that way and few or none have more of a drop. Now, when it comes to hotness or notness, I'll grant that this extreme setup is more hot if it works (it may be extremely nice), and not if it doesn't (extremely offensive), but an observer has to be able to imagine whether it works in order to make a judgement, so your demonstration is helpful.

I posted that Ridley in the Professional Cycling subforum and everyone in there was like, "yeah, so..." hahaha.

My new 2015 Lynskey R240 before and after pics. Sram Red 22 groupset, ENVE cockpit, and Boyd wheelset, which I took off my old bike. Dropped two pounds to 16lbs with the bottle cages, but without the clam. I removed the wheel decals, and applied gloss black decals to the fork, to match the stem and handlebars. I've only had the bike a very short time, so I am not sure where I want the stem yet, hence the periscope.

Good looking Lynskey, in both variations.

I got my new wheels yesterday, so I guess it's time to post mine again...

Totally understand. Good point all around. Funny how people seem to find the geometry as hot even though it's basically the only thing I didn't do when trying to beautify the bike up. Spent time on carbon bottle cages, carbon seatpost, carbon wheels, titanium QR's, rare bar tape, new saddle etc etc etc and all most people notice is the drop hahahahah too funny.

Second page, post #27 ...I posted it and no one could figure out what I was "what the hell"-ing.

I mean, it is a lot, but after watching more and more races this year, it seems to be the norm for bikes with sloping top tubes.

That's so funny to read. They commented on EVERYTHING but the drop until you pointed it out.... and even after that it was mostly like 'oh yeah, people do that now'.

Hahaha, I know! In this forum there would have been a 5 page discussion about the guy's fit. Over there, no big deal.

Alright, so far I've been too lazy to post anything on this thread, but decided to do it with my new bike.

Yes!

But what's the wire going over the handlebars?

MNX1024 06-21-15 07:23 PM

Di2, it enters in on the top tube right behind the stem.

Matt2.8NJ 06-21-15 07:24 PM

Great Propel!

BTW, how tall are you?

Thanks. I'm 5' 7".

valygrl 06-22-15 08:42 AM

Propel is hot, but probably could zip-tie or tape that DI2 wire to the stem and clean it up. Is the junction box on top of the stem? Can't it be on the bottom? That wire isn't very aero.

Yeah, I think I'd try to get it to run under the handlebars. That would drive me crazy.

MNX1024 06-22-15 09:06 AM

Yep, junction box is on the top because my stem is too short to mount it on the bottom. Unfortunately, I can't really zip tie it down unless I replace some of the cables with much longer ones or with the current set up I can potentially damage the cables by kinking them. And, blame Giant for it's cable routing, :p.

To this day, I still don't understand why Shimano designed the junction box by having all the ports on one side. It would've been a lot nicer if they had two ports on side and one on the other. Makes no sense to me what so ever....

arben 06-22-15 12:08 PM

6770 has the shifters go into one side and the cable to the battery/derailleurs come out the other, at least.

Now this is an aero bike I dig. Hot bike...and great wheels.

Thanks for the recommendation. Unfortunately, Giant uses 1 1/4" steerer so that doesn't fit. Even if it did, It'll mess with my fit as my stem sits right on top of the bearing covers. Also, I could be wrong here, not sure if that even works for my stem because of its shape and how short it is.

Can't wait to get NOT because it's not all black =P

Not. Has potential, but I personally don't care for the mismatched bar tape, the pink cable housing, the steering tube above stem or the grey cages.

I feel it would be SO much cleaner with just blue bar tape to bring out the blue stripe on the frame and leave all else black.

WhyFi 06-24-15 07:58 AM

I don't mind the pink cables (with the other pink accents already in place), but I wouldn't do the mis-matched tape, either, I'd stick with blue.
