I like those wheels. Those are lased in Utah. Hubs are Mercury and they are very smooth. The hoops are from Taiwan.
Those are mine - he borrowed on vacation. He has a set that is the same and I have 3 others built for the team - 2 alloy, one carbon. I've lately gone to latex tubes with 60mm valves - looks better and rides much better.

Here is his set, bike was posted before. I expect a reaction over the blue tires (that match his class colors).

I like that one better, got a low key USA thing going on. Definitely would like it a lot more with black tires

Blue looks much better than the red/green Masi.

Yea, black would look better. USAF Academy Blue, taken at the same.

Totally not butthurt but when someone says your bike is ugly because the anodized hubs are a slightly lighter shade of pink than your handlebar tape, it's a bit laughable.

sorry but you do seem a little butt hurt. i said its a nice bike.. it is a nice bike.. you should be happy with it... but if it bothers you that some one points out your pinks are off in the hot or not thread... then. sorry? i have a rockymountain mbt that had the same thing.. only red.. the chris king did not match any of the other anodized brakes or seat clamp or chain ring bolts... or brake levers.. i just said fook it... i like the bike.. if every one is not throwing attaboys at your bike... then fook em.. but it a hot or not thread.. not every one love my bike please thread.. eh... its a nice bike... so good job.. ;)

Hey anytime someone that's been around here for 10 years with only 400 some odd posts comes out of hiding to say anything about my bike, I consider it a compliment.

But it's also my new bike, so I gotta defend it, haha.

It's just comical because everyone is ragging on this bike, but when I posted my bone stock Mr. Pink with some carbon wheels thrown on, everyone was like, great bike! Tough crowd!

Sometimes people like the way a bike looks, and cost doesn't make the bike sexy.

Oh, I know. Just find it funny.

Anyway, like I said, I've taken my lumps, so I feel like I can throw out a few in the future. I wasn't critiquing bikes as much because I hadn't posted one in awhile. Now it's fair game.

your bike looks good, but the eTap rear derailleur is an eyesore. I know it works, but it ain't pretty.

That bike with Chorus(Record, SR, or DA) would LOOK better to me. 130mm stems always look strange to me, but only because my short torso would never allow that on a modern stock frame.

Nice bike bra! Nothing wrong with ETAP. I have it on my Cannondale also. I might be minority, but that chain is hella hot. In the end, it's your bike. Ride it like you stole it. :thumb:

SpeshulEd 01-09-17 06:21 PM

Haha, thanks.

Ya know, I'd recommend eTap to anyone. I really like it...and not a fair comparison, but it's just as fast to change the front and drop gears in the back as it was with my old Ultegra Di2. I have no complaints.

...

I like it. But consider the source. You could get alloy valve stems anodized.
Just get something lighter made from alloy like an Extralite - and put it in the pink anodize tank.

What.. no nail polish recommendations for this application?

SpeshulEd 01-10-17 12:57 PM

Haha, I honestly considered trying a glossy clearish pink nail polish, but I was too lazy to try.

I used red nail polish on my cable ends once. Or wait that may have been touch up paint.

Regardless, you definitely don't want to apply "clearish" enamel directly over aluminum.

Primer first, or use an opaque paint.

Makes sense. I doubt I'll bother with. Sooner or later something will pop up. It's weird there's not more manufacturers making this stuff considering that tubeless is becoming more popular.

Get some red extenders, and leave them out in the sunlight for a few weeks.

i have some cheap black Ti skewers that have turned brown over 5 months of limited use. I wonder how long it would take for red to turn into pink, or if it would just turn into a pale red.
