Sorry...my bad, you're right...grass + picket fence clearly makes it hot. Lol. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=269603

As I said, the lighting is fine + *maybe* slightly underexposed...the setting is ridiculous for a mood shot. :2cents:

Stop feeding the troll....can we get back to the bikes?

I know it doesn't compare to the great bikes here, but this is my first budget build. 2012 CAAD 8 with full 5700 105's, Easton EA50sl wheels, FSA forged carbon/aluminum stem, carbon flat top bars, carbon seat post, and Fizik saddle.

Sits at about 18lbs.. I am very happy with it, and the amount of money spent to get it this way. The only thing I wanna change is maybe swap the wheel set with some soul 3.0 SL's

Anyways, hope you like it.

Jimmy

I like the bike, but I'm not keen on the silver on the saddle, & bar tape.
White would look much better. I almost bought a blue,& silver saddle just like yours but found the silver wouldn't match my JTS.

Well done Jimmy! Only thing I would change are the bars, I personally don't like ergos, I would get shallow compacts.

Why do you have your levers mounted like that?

+1
Must be double jointed in the wrist, while riding in the drops?

Nice bike. Really weird shifter mounting. Also non matching front tire.

I ride very little in the drops mostly on the hoods. Traditionally I ride on the drops in two instances:
1. While in a breaking or during a pull
2. While sprinting. As I am a sprinter this has proven to be the best place for my levers to be. This lever placement is not uncommon with sprinters, always remember you touch those levers while going for the line, you lose. :)
Here is a shot from the front to show you how messed up they are. Having pins in the wrist doesn't allow them to move quite the same.

never wanted to post in this thread, but i can make an exception for this. kinda reminds me of this guy's setup for a merckx time trial:

So ... Just a thought. Nuke me if you want.

Would be interesting if folks posted mileage on their miles along with the pictures. A brand new bike never ridden will definitely look ... ummm ... brand new :-P However I have seen some old bikes revived and very tastefully brought back to its full glory. Or even better, a very sexy looking bike with 15K miles on it would make my jaws drop even more !

That being said, I am a very regular visitor of this thread, and I drool over the bikes here !

My homebuilt. Nashbar frame, crankset and fork. Shimano 501-30 wheels, 105 and Ultegra derailers. Rides nice and would be plenty fast enough with a better engine. Al

Yeah, I know what you mean, The bike came with a white saddle, and white bar tape. My mother bought me the saddle as a surprise for my birthday, so I swapped the bar tape to match the saddle. I didnt have the heart to tell her it didn't match, so I made it work the best way I could.

I'd probably do the same thing in that situation.
You did do a good of matching the saddle.
One thing for sure is the Fizik Arione is my favorite saddle.
The size,& shape works for me just perfectly!
What can i say... Red,& white are the colors of our countries!
;)

I look forward to it. However, I'm confused about the whole "youre riding a bmc with pink handlebar tape out of nowhere," part. Care you explain?
