I like his camera almost as much as the Fuji. I'm also impressed with the sharpness of that Tamron lens.

This is the only lens I haven't sold. For the $400 I paid for the lens, you can't beat the sharpness and durability of it. I'll never get rid of it.
The camera I've only had for about 2 months and I really like it. It's just a better version of the 5dc I was using.

Good to know for future decisions. I just got a 24-105 (had to lose the 17-55 f/2.8 b/c of my new/old 1D3). I'm amazed at how sharp it is as well. Good to find a good copy of a good lens.

I also have an older Tamron 28-105 f/2.8 35mm lens for Nikons, handed down from my dad, that I use on Nikon DSLR's. The smaller CMOS sensor makes the effective focal length 42-158, but man it sure is nice to have f/2.8 available at full zoom. :) That was a $1K lens back in the 90's.

Tough to find a reasonably-priced FF lens with decent sharpness across the frame. I'll need to take some pics after wheelset, saddle and seatpost changes this spring - then you can behold the resolving powah of the TS-E 90!

I thought a Tampon lens was the one that took your picture from a female perspective...

And while we are talking about camera lenses I use a 2"->6" Image Amplifier Lens for my boudoire photos. Makes everything look impressive provided that we don't take pictures with a Tampon lens after... :(

Actually WhyFi's TSE-90 would be a good choice, as it can have a miniaturizing effect on some parts, making the other parts appear larger. Maybe he should be the one out shopping for eye bleach before the shoot. Maybe we can use a filter adapter to mount the Tampon 28-75 backwards on there too...

wait, wtf is this thread about?

At this point it doesn't really matter, it's derailed...

I use an antique kodak to take my pictures. Sucks that I ran out of magnesium powder and haven't been able to take any recent ones.

To me, normally flashy wheels can get too billboardy and drown out the bike, but this is one of the very few times where the wheels aren't loud enough for the frame

Try grinding up an unused tamron and see if that works.

Used would be high in iron not magnesium...

K, that's all, no more....

IMO I have to say I Love the bike, the only changes I would make is get rid of the Red on the Wheel set, Use an all black seat and change the chain to black.

Ice41000 03-06-13 03:55 AM

Only thing I would change at that Fuji is bar tape. I'd use black one.

gc3 03-07-13 11:05 AM

what's next? the Fuji has been bludgeoned enough.

So for those who aren't following my "testing new wheels" thread, I just picked up my second demo wheelset today. When i walked into her shop I saw a set of wheels leaning against her work bench and prayed they were not mine to pick up. Sure as crap, they were. I was actually kind of irritated about them being pink. Got them home and put them on my bike. I was surprised that they didn't look AS BAD as I was expecting them to. Not a color I would EVER chose if i were paying for them, but they are just demo's so I am going to ride the crap out of them while i have them! (I was told to throw them in the hot r not thread for a laugh)

I look at it as a win win...Either you love how it still looks and I get a Hot OR you dont like them but cant deny that they are Hot....as in HOT Pink? :thumb:

I'm a fan of the wheels! And the bike as a whole.

Hot.

Lol this is true, BUT just like everyone in my thread said before I posted pictures, I thought the same thing..."this has to be a joke!". At the end of the day, the wheels are freaking PINK for goodness sake!!! It does look waaaaaaay better than I had imagined in my head before putting them on for sure!

Don't know about pink...but I'd agree that the bike looks good with a bit of color added. I really liked YOJiMOB20's use of blue (rims and bar wrap on the Litespeed).

You are getting to try before you buy and you are irritated about the color? I wouldn't care if they had pink hubs, purple rims, and gold nipples. A free demo is a free demo.

well to make it sound even worse then, I'm not even buying. She just wants me to experience different wheels and hubs so I can know first hand instead of having to ask someone else what their thoughts were. I will be purchasing form her eventually, but the purpose of these demo tests are not for buying purposes.

thirdgenbird 03-07-13 06:28 PM

In that case you deserve the pink wheels :) (which I kinda like anyway)

i was just giving you a hard time. I look forward to your feedback.
