stared at this in the window of the LBS for a while. Friend called yesterday and offered me a deal. Guess my look is up for sale now.
Fit is close but I think I'm either going to shorten the stem a touch or change the bars to a shorter reach.
And I oversaturated the photo, I'll fix it later. Oops

1985 Cannondale Sr500
Heres my newly finished 1985 Cannondale SR 500. Now, I would say it is much closer to a SR900. Powder coated Outer Space Blue Sparkle (it has pearl and gold flakes in it) The photos dont do this color justice. Designed and applied the decals myself. Note the wheat stalks on the fork were a personal touch for fun (I live in Kansas and no, its not that flat). Almost a full Shimano Sante 7 spd group on it. Please if anyone has a set of Sante brake levers they dont want let me know! Vintage Selle Italia Turbo saddle. Shimano RS20 front wheel and Shimano RS10 rear wheel. Continental Ultra Race tires. Vintage cotton cloth bar tape. I also have Shimano 600 aero seat post on the way. Let me know what you guys think this is my first build of a vintage bike
or tarckeemoon, depending

That Specialized is generally nice looking, but compact cranks, wide range cassettes and deep carbon clinchers are not hot to me.
The Cannondale is close, but the hoods are a touch too low. Also, while I can understand why white rims seemed like a good idea with the Sante stuff they're a little over the top.
Actually, on closer inspection they're silver. They just look white in the pictures. Maybe just something shallower?

That SR500 is gorgeous. I'd ditch the wheel decals though.

Really liking this Cannondale. As mentioned the only thing I'd do is lose the decals on the wheelset. Other than that,

The Specialized is hot, imo. I'm not a big fan of Specialized but that one is just a good looking bike. (I'm not sure why compact cranks are not hot?)
And overall, I'm also not a huge fan of vintage bikes but that Cannondale is a good looking bike. (If you shoot the paint up close with the sun shining on it (and not behind it), you'll show off the paintjob better) I would prefer that the bars be lifted up a little though. They're tilted down too far, but maybe you were going with the old custom of leveling the bottom of the bars rather than the top?

Probably the hottest bike on this thread in recent memory IMHO... Didja just happen to have the Sante group sitting around for a classic build or was it slowly pieced together? HOT

Without a doubt, HOT. I usually ignore non-modern framesets but this is one has definitely caught my attention.
White hoods usually don't turn out great, aesthetically. But these fit the overall look of your bike. Nicely done. HOT.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I leveled the bottom of the drops to the ground I just find this more comfortable Milkbaby: I wish I had all the Sante parts but I didnt. I even tried to find a donor bike locally but couldnt, so I did have to hunt it down part by part. The hardest part of the build would be finding the part I needed but it wasnt in a good enough condition to be used on this bicycle.

-take off that camera for picture.
-black chainrings (I recommend praxis works)
-position your wheels so they are mirrored for the photo.
-cut that steering tube. Doesnt have to be flat, but cut some off that will still give you the option for adjustment but not have such a large amount showing.
-Flip that stem (Of course, that a BFN rule lol). seriously though, you have it slammed down to the conical spacer, I would bring it up 5 or 6 mm with spacers and flip your stem which will give you a more pleasing/aggressive look and be somewhat comparable to what you currently have height wise.
-rotate the bars down. they appear to be pointed up a bit. Might be the angle of the photo. If they are pointed up, I would bet money you positioned it like this to be more comfortable. (But for LOOKS, it doesn't look good)
-Fizik microtex soft touch dark grey would look good IMO on that flat black
