Just threw it together. I have not done the fit yet. That is why I left the spacers on. Don't want to cut the fork to short without getting properly fit. Custom fit does not mean everything is like you want it, it is how I WANT IT.

Yeah they are nice bikes. But all factory. I live within my means and that is why I have one bike for the moment. So don't go knockin on people who are relatively new to cycling (3 years) and have there first CUSTOM bike.

My first road bike was the blue Trek which was already built. But I tore it down every which way and put it back together and learned that way.

I have to admit, that Cervelo right there is hot, I must of said it like 2 or 3 times on this thread. But it does make my bike hurt just looking at it

Jerry, you asked for Rob's bikes, (insinuating he had no place to talk) then he posts some pretty awesome bikes and then you diss them? At this point, a compliment to Rob's bikes would be the classier way to go. Just sayin'...
Rob, I'm envious of that Orbea. It looks beeyouteemus. Although I'm just a beginner, so what do I know? lol.

Rob. I will take the high road. Yes, those are definitely awesome bikes, especially the matte black S-Works. I am envious too a degree. But, if you know anything about custom steel bikes, Mike DeSalvo has won best of show for
TIG welded frames at the NAHBS more than once. I don't consider my bike mediocre. If you would like to join me on the high road, as Ross Perot said " I'm all ears ".

Oh, I see where you get the mediocre comment from. So he posts that a day before you post a pic of your bike and you feel slighted. It's like he's psychic and knew you would be posting soon.

Surprisingly well. I was weary of chinese carbon, but was rather impressed. I've had it for a little over a month, has about 800 miles on it, and nothing has needed my attention. It even handled fast descents amazingly well, no shake or anything like that, felt like it was on rails at 40+.

Dont you hate the wind though (crosswinds)? Even the slightest wind on those DEEEEEP wheels sucks. I have some 50mms and sometimes I regret not switching to my ALs. It's great on the headwinds but crosswinds just makes it a lil bit more challenging while riding.

Don't get butt hurt because no one fell to their knees and worshiped your custom built bike. The thread is about looks, mostly, and yours is not set up the most eye pleasing way or in the hottest color combo out there. it is a nice bike that I'm sure rides really well. Not hot though, move on.

If u read my post, I said they were nice bikes. Just don't knock me for my First Custom Steel bike. The frame is Hand Made. Not Factory Made. Just Sayin!!
I consider custom framebuilders artisans in their own right that produce works of art. And well-built, hand-crafted frames will always be special, some much more than others.
You're not the only one here with a hand-built customized frame.
I don't consider my bike mediocre.
Just threw it together. I have not done the fit yet. That is why I left the spacers on. Don't want to cut the fork to short without getting properly fit. Custom fit does not mean everything is like you want it, it is how I WANT IT.
But if you want some loving to be given to your "CUSTOM bike" with a "custom-built frame" made by a "custom framebuilder" (but with "factory-made" components), here it is - "Jerry you have a nice CUSTOM bike."
But this is the "Hot r Not" thread. It's not about your bike being custom or your ride being comfortable to you. It's about your bike looking good enough to show off. And for me your bike is NOT.

Still amazed on how it looks. Screams "race me". It's so beautiful.

Actually have a pair of ALs in the works, haven't quite decided on everything, but shouldn't be too long. I'm curious to see what box sections will look like on the frame, but regardless, I'd like a set of climbers.
Thanks.

It's a clean look, but IMO you would need new bars. Do you actually use the drops in that angle?

You must be a lawyer on in politics, because you are skewing the facts. Rob commented on a bike, not yours, mind you. You didn't like his take, and in turn, called him out by saying, and I quote, "lets see your bike"...mistake #1. He showed you an awesome collection of bikes that he himself put together.Ever since then you've been doing the backpedalling fast track...Amusing to watch you squirm.....I think this was made with you in mind....

Have to go with a Not on this one. Is that bike custom built for you or someone else?
