I agree. Also the bartape needs to match the saddle. Not to mention the tape job looks pretty ****ty. I see what you are trying to do with the white stem, and bartape to blend with the white on the frame. However I just think if it was all black it would look better. Then of course the tire sidewalls.
Thanks for the ideas all!

I dunno man like I said I have not much more than $800 into my build and nothing on BD comes close to it for that price. $400 will get you a new set of neuvation m28's as well as a new nashbar frame and a new CF fork. That's a pretty solid base for the price IMO then all you have to do is find used components...

Here is my Frankie Andreu - Motorola Team bike - I got this is 1991.. Been a great bike for all those years - a crazy mix of parts now but still rides smooth..

This bike has real potential, but this is not the show us your bike thread, so (1) it's facing the wrong way, (2)has more spokes then teeth on your chainring and (3)the bags out number the riders. Fix that and we can see how you can turn this frog into a prince.

I really like the Pedal Force bike! More details on the wheels?
Please don't take this as offensive, but that is an awesome budget race bike! (I only say "budget" as you put apex on the bike to save money and put the saved money towards race wheels....I would do the same thing)

Thanks!
No offense taken. It was a 'budget' build - but that is Rival, not Apex. It's also the S500/S550 BB30 crankset.
The wheels are built by J2-velosport (j2-velo.com) - they are china wheels, just built/sold through J2 Velo. Called and spoke with Peter (the owner) personally before I placed my order. I think they are out of Illinois. Very nice guy, very fast shipping, and decent price IMO for the availability of contact with the seller.

All of the components/group/etc were bought on eBay so I saved some money there. Been picking and choosing parts for about 2-3 months and just waiting for that eBay last minute grab, ha.
Final weight came out to 15lb, 10oz. Very, very happy!

PF is hot, although I might consider losing the green tape. Not sure. Also, cutting the steerer a little more wouldn't hurt.

2012 Madone 4.5
Mostly a lurker and learning a lot. Past MTBR and used to have a Spec Langster but this is my first real road bike...
Just wanted to post my Madone 4.5. I've had it a couple weeks dialing in the fit. Just had the fork cut down so thought I would go ahead and post it up. I tried a bunch of different bikes and it just felt right. I know Trek doesn't get a lot of love here or on the other forum but I am really enjoying it.
Added red cages and bar tape to add some color but I'm still on the fence with whether i would like white better. A couple upgrades -- bonus points if you can spot them - one is pretty obvious the other, not so much.....
I still want to go a little lower with the bars but my LBS didn't have a shorter headset bearing cap (dust cap).
Just a not so great cell photo...

Had not heard about Far Sports wheels - any good links on them? I just got my tax return. Not much left over but was thinking of trying to find a quality Chinese carbon wheel or rim (opinions welcomed).

Looks like Silver on the Seat-tube and white lettering. Could just be the weird lighting and lack of focus.

Personally, I dont dig the Red. there are no red accents on the bike itself. Black or charcoal fizik microtex would look good IMO.

Not sure if I read it correctly but UCI approves certain equipment to be used in races (?)
