Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Finished the build not too long ago. Just waiting on an injury to heal so I can actually ride it.

Hey full Sram Red, with those wheels - definitely hot! Also with the KOM wheels on sub 14 lbs - super hot.

Did you get a new bike?

Must have been just before Joe dropped Specialized or bought from another shop?

Also, my friend works at that Sears.

Wouldn't you be able to contact Specialized directly? Or do you have to go through a dealer?

Either way, I'm okay with him dropping Specialized because he picked up Felt. Now I won't have to go down to Chula Vista to get my bike..you know...once I have money.

Also, I could hopefully start working at BRC soon. Joe told me one of the guys might be quitting soon, so that'd be cool.

no distortion in this photo - shot is tilted slightly. Panasonic LX3 corrects for barrel and CA distortions in firmware when writing jpegs. In the ones shot more from the front and the back there is some elongation due to the wide angle lens but I kind of like that.

There is a fair amount of barrel distortion and a lot of perspective distortion (perspective distortion cannot be corrected) in it from shooting at such a wide angle so close up. Just look at the barbed wire for proof. I agree that it looks good in the other shots though.

They may be great wheels, but it looks like somebody found the worst looking "wedding" style font that comes with Windows to do the logo and then slapped in onto some stickers to put on the wheels in a squarish configuration.

Totally takes away from the design of the wheels (which would otherwise actually look pretty sleek).

I think the wheels really took it to another level as far as looks go, the ride quality was already there.
It actually gained a fair amount of weight going with the SRAM wheel set, but like they say, "aero trumps weight" so it's all good.
I put a teammates set of Reynolds KOM's on it and it went 13.8 pounds, and that was with a Rival cassette and Keo classic pedals. With a Red cassette and Keo Carbon's it would go about 13.5.
The bike is really amazing to ride. I have a 08 TCR C2 which was very nice also, but this bike is on a whole other level. It is stiff beyond belief but the ride is smooth with very little vibration. If it had a better engine it would fly. Just look at what Rabobank is doing on it.
