Colored tires make me want to toss babies into a wood chipper.

bianchi10 01-27-13 04:43 PM

its not like you have a cannondale evo and a cannondale R2000. you have 2 R2000's which is like having 2 honda accords. If you are going to have 2 bikes, why not have 2 bikes that give you something different? having your fuji and 1 Cdale R2000 at least gives you 1 honda accord and 1 toyota camry. both about equal, but still different.

Agree! Only time it's acceptable is gumwalls and pave green stripe if using them for the intended purpose.

I can't believe anyone agreed with that terrible statement I made. I completely agree with you. Those whitewalls on robncircus's bike look okay too. Other than that, colored tires=fail.

@justfitme-you are able to swap out more pieces of a bike than anyone I have seen around here! lol

I wish your fuji was taken in the same daylight that your blue R2000 was. The Bianchi, looks like it was stuck in the over 2 hours to long because it looks waaaaaay overdone! Its a classic older style, I wouldn't try to build it up like its a new evo with neon colors. Black bar tape, black saddle, simple bottles and maybe keep the tires for a little spice.

when it comes time:

Bianchi goes first, followed shortly by the blue R2000. Tough one between the Cdale and the fuji. I would say keep the fuji based on looks.

Honestly, i was very surprised to hear someone want to execute Bianchi first.
Yes, it is heavy and old, but it is in absolute spotless condition, it was in the collector posession and never been serioulsy ridden. I'm only second owner. And it is a real head turner in the cyclist parking lot. Also it is very comfortable and fast on flats (and it is flat evrywhere) and it is able to keep 25 mph if needed. I do not ride it often but really enjoy it when do.

So, I have an idea to sell one of two (blue and Fuji) and build something very light with SRAM group and light pieces... You think Fuji is a better candidate than blue cannondale?

I think I got your answer. Thanks.
P.S. Do not you think that R2000si CAAD5 with 105 is not the same as R2000si CAAD7 with SRAM (force)?

I respect your opinion on departure of yellow tires from yellow Cannondale... but heard different voices.

I like blue frame better than Fuji's (do not exactly know why), but would like to hear more from someone else than 2 cannodnales are better than 1 cannanodale and 1 fuji... :)

I look forward to seeing the white on the bianchi.

i don't think the yellow tires look awful, I just think black would be better. They certainly don't look bad enough to replace them prematurely.

bianchi10 01-27-13 04:50 PM

I dont like older bikes, so its just my opinion. I can appreciate it for what it is, but I wouldn't give that style bike a second look if one passed me.

I dont know the pro's and cons between the R2000 vs the fuji so my opinion is simply based on looks. I dont care for the looks of the blue R2000. aesthetically the fuji grabs me more than any of them.

Honestly, I was thinking abpout ivory tires (almost gumwall) but then I ran into set of these celeste and not only this - they are 700x20 and I never tried. Wanted to give it a shot.

There is a difference in feel between 2000 and fuji but nothing very significant. The frames weight about the same. Fuji has full carbon fork, but it is not a problem to get one for 2000....

Looking at Fuji i think ii is overloaded with stickers. I think I will use the advise to move Mavics to yellow and Am.Classics to Fuji... Yep..I'm a champion of moving things ...:)

May be sell them both and buy CAAD10? :)

bianchi10 01-27-13 05:41 PM

nah, sell them all and get an evo

justfitme 01-27-13 05:47 PM

I will be bored - need at least 3 to swap bar tape and tires between them.

Justfitme - I like the Bianchi. With a few changes, it'd be hot in my book. Black tires with gumwalls and different bar tape, and it would be a real looker IMO.

If it came time to let two go, I'd ditch the two C'dales and keep the Bianchi and Fuji.

Guys,

I'm trying to collect parts for my build this spring.

I am trying to get a matching color headshet and italian bottom bracket, preferably gray (match SRAM Force) and compatible with GXP.
Unfortunately, Chris King doesn't make a Gray headset (Pewter is comes out more purple) and SRAM's italian BB is a gold-silver color.

any ideas?
