This is my first set of tubulars. I didnt know what to expect. The few miles I've had a chance to put on them they seem real smooth, and handle nicely. Boyd's customer service was top notch. I thought I had an issue with the hub body. The lock ring didnt want to go past the third or so thread. I didnt want to cross thread it so I called Boyd. He had one out to me in two days. I ended up not needing it, the threads were just super tight, but awesome customer service. Now I'm eyeing some of his new clinchers.

I agree. I'm OCD with everything I buy, and I must have emailed them 5-6 times before eventually missing out on their deal anyway. Are those 58s or the new 60s?

They are the 58's, I couldn't pass up the deal on the 2012's.

i switch between road/spd, but I prefer the latter since I like walking around too.

Get first generation of Shimano road pedals. They used same cleats as MTB.
;-)

That's what I offered him.

thanks. I'm honestly still pretty new to road cycling (grew up with bmx bikes all my life), and I keep going back to the SPDs because it feels looser. I can't explain it, but I've read that speedplays are close in feel to SPDs. The Keos are too tight (makes my knees hurt sometimes on 60+ mile rides) and even though it's supposed to be better (less loss of energy), I don't race so I couldn't care less about that. I just like to ride long distances with my wife and explore the places we go to.

^its a hot bike for sure. especially after the expert photoshop work (seriously I can't even tell the original image has been altered :thumb:) I can understand wanting to be able to walk around (riding in NYC) but there are still options for what you need in a pedal.

speedplay's have adjustable float.

if you want really icy float maybe try out bebop's? I did a review of them a couple of years ago. every things A-Okay with them so far. I even put the cleats into some DZR shoes and can walk around no problem with them (for use with my commuter or even my roadbike with casual clothes).

I give it a solid meh out of 10

The gold chain and white spokes don't really do it for me.

What he said plus white hoods on black tape, too much mis-matched, or is that mismashed...

Nagrom_ 03-12-13 10:42 PM

I actually like it.

Hot.

jtwilson 03-12-13 11:34 PM

Yeah I like it too. The picture could be better, and the only thing that bugs me about the bike is the Red crank on a DA drive train. Oh and also - needs a second bottle cage, or move the one to 'primary' position.

Hot.

Eyestrain- Your TCR is most hot indeed.

bhayes505 03-13-13 05:52 AM

I think the Giant is hot. I'm not a fan of the gold chain but other than that it's a hot bike!

CALE262 03-13-13 08:34 AM

Never been a Giant fan but this one is a very clean build IMO...I give it a Hawt :thumb:

I disagree, the black tape and post tie in perfectly. Super Hot.

Nice, but the "gum-wall" tires are a bit out of place. Shorten the rear brake cable.
