It's a not.

Bars looks odd, 7800 shifters look bulky, spacer stack, lack of saddle/bar drop and I think those wheels would look better without decals or with some beyond black ones.

justfitme 12-30-12 10:19 PM

Is there any chance to make it hot? Boyd wheel I'm thinking about... anything else, or no way?

Sure it can!I would start with a different seatpost. I personally never cared for seatback posts like thomson or others alike have with that bend. A different set of bars that have less of an ergo grip. With that said id also change the color to a silver seatpost, stem and bar combo. In my mind, I would say some boyd 30mm vitesse (Or other similar options) would look good. These frames have a kind of a classic tubing and always have potential!

As is I wouldn't call it Hot, but its definitely not an ugly bike

I think it's hot as it stands, but maybe silver seatpost, stem, and a more classic bend or compact bars would kick it up a few degrees. I dig the wheels as long as they're sturdy enough for you.

Agreed on seatpost. Not attached to it anyway.
I was ok with these Ritchey Logic II but I will look what else I have on my shelfs... may be something more calssic will work better...

Will try wheels first....
Thanks

If keep those wheels I think you right on silver ... I'm almost 190 and even I do not feel that wheels do not take it, they would probably work better on my wife's bike. :)

@cycledogg, its no sweat off my sack if you don't like my bike, But I have this weird feeling that you are saying so because I didn't like yours. I think you are also blending what lowcell said about your bike with what I said. Most of it matches dead on though so I can see why that happened. I didn't mention anything about your old looking zipp decals or your tire labels being off, so you pointing out that mine being off has nothing to do with what i said. My stem conical spacer is not taller than your stack, sorry. My spacer is 25mm. you have what appears to be a 10mm conical spacer and (hard to see but from what I can tell) 5 5mm spacers which puts you at a 35mm stack vs my 25mm. You can dislike my bike all you like because this thread is all about personal opinion, but I'll bet you that if our bikes were up for vote I would get 9 out of 10 people that liked mine over yours. just saying

What are your reasons for not liking ritchey parts? To light for your liking?

Butthurt easy? I could care less about what anybody thinks about my bike. Put it up just for fun ..I know it would put some panties in a bunch...like yours. If I cared ..I would have replied...but I didn't.

What I said is just a statement...you somehow took it as a jab at you...bit insecure...no? ;)

Oh yeah...I can get Ritchey below dealer cost...so no...I don't prefer Ritchey parts. I'd rather pay more for Zipp.

My reply was 99% towards cycledogg. Only reason I quoted you was because you said ,"it was only 1persons opinion", I was just saying to you that it was more than just me. not sure how you took my reply to cycledogg as a reply towards you. Regardless, no panties bunched here.

Lol so because you can get ritchey cheaper than cost, you would rather pay more for an item that you can't get as cheap and thats the reason you don't like ritchey? That doesn't sound like a real reason not to like a brand.

Are those bars ritchey superlogic? I have superlogics on mine and they don't appear to have that shape. Maybe the angle at which the bar is rotated and location of the hoods is giving it a much different look?

It might be the case - If I would pull the levers up and push the bar down it will give a very different ..and probably better look. I will try...most likely this is the case why I liked them on other bike better :)
This is what I have:

I apologize if I misread you post.

I didn't chose Ritchey because they just didn't feel right to me. I bought the WCS and Evo Curve bars...ended up selling both bars. I liked the drops and tops on the Evo Curve...but the reach was too long. Reach is right on the WCS...didn't like the drops.

The Service Course CSL Zipp bars fit the bill. I paid wholesale for those. ;)

Yes. I can't start one, because I don't have a worthy bike for such thread. However I would read it regularly.

 no worries brotha! The zipp service course csl's were what i was going to get at first, looks great and really light. I wanted the vuka sprints but couldn't tell if I would like them or not and no store had them in stock for me to look at them first hadn. Didn't want to drop the money on them and then have to pay a restocking fee. Oh well, I'm super happy with my superlogic's

This thread isn't for everyone. ;)

Giant OCR C-3. Just got the Planet X carbon clinchers and have about 50 miles on them so far. I have the 205 gram Planet X brakes as well to be installed in a few days.

PatrickGSR94 12-31-12 03:49 PM

man the lines on that OCR frame look sahweet!!!

NWS Alpine 12-31-12 03:52 PM

Not on the OCR. Even with a half decent picture there is a lot that needs to be fixed.

Thanks, this was a $400 full carbon frame Craigs List find over the summer. Rich guy in Raleigh didn't care one bit and the bike is close to new condition. Added some Lizard Skin bar tape (great stuff) the Selle saddle, and the wheels and 23c tires for Christmas. Gone over 1000 miles since June. Love it!

This gets a hot vote from me, and I am not a huge fan of the look of Giant bikes. Well done!

Turn it around and take an appropriate photo and it's got potential.

It's a VERY nice bike but I don't see it as hot. Reasons being that I don't care for the green tires, the mis-matched cages, and the white bar/stem combo.

Nagrom_ 01-01-13 12:09 PM

Couple things for me make it a "not". It's a nice bike, but something doesn't do it for me, even setting aside my general bias against pinarellos.

Not digging the white integrated bar/stem. In black, it may have pulled it off, but the white draws too much attention to it.

Mismatched cages takes a penalty, as well as the green tires.
