I gotta disagree with you there.

No it's not a piece of aero plastic from the Orient, but it's a very nice looking ride.

Btw, the owner is already thinking about dumping the frameset on fleabay. It's a bit too small, so now he's searching for a better fitting frame. He wants a classic steel frame ether 130mm spacing.

Is the Tomassini Techno classic Italian geometry?

Need some cheese with that whine? Of perhaps a box of Kleenex? You're making yourself look silly! I imagine your face all red while you pound away at your keyboard over what you perceive as a personal attack on your "friends" bike? Really?

You have a very wild imagination?

So, there's that.

Very true

I'm not in love with this ride, but with the steerer tube trimmed down, I think it's a pretty fine build.

I hope he donates the frameset to me. I love the color, and it should fit me at least as well as my Pedal Force.

Pretty serious setback on that seatpost, back end of saddle's almost over the rear axle.

If he's used to '80s brake levers then the hoods on brifters are gonna add approx 2cm to reach, all else equal. Stem looks pretty long. Could probably get some bars with less reach.

This is what I love about the internets/texting. I disagree with you, but you haven't offended me at all.

Wait. What? I'm confused.

Question...are we our posting real bikes here or what? I mean, if you want to photoshop and show us "what coulda been" then what's the point, really? Now, what's been done is pretty minor, granted, so I'm just adding my whine to the cheese.

Headtube too short, top tube too long. Depends on which "too small" you mean :)

Are you joking?

Black plastic bike= hot?

Nothing wrong with the bike, but it looks like every other plastic bike.

Honestly, the levers are a tad low & the bars are rotated up to compensate.

Now you're seeing things. And I think that frame is aluminium.

Has your friend considered Torelli?

You have it right. If he went with a larger modern frame, the TT would be very long compared to his old Tomassini. He's used to a 62 c-c seat tube , with a 58.5 TT. A modern bike would have a much longer TT.

Probably not. He bought this frameset on a whim, and got it CHEAP.

I want him to get a custom steel or titanium frame. He's got deep pockets, and respects quality/craftsmanship.

LesterOfPuppets 03-24-13 06:19 PM

I would probably dig the Co-Motion with white or yellow decals, zero setback seatpost, fewer spacers and wheels with more spokes.

If he wants a 62x58 then custom is probably a good idea.

In that case, Pegoretti.

simmer down man. you said only thing. I was just correcting. Go through this thread and tell me one page where someone doesn't point out that the wheels weren't staged, background wasnt good, chain is crossed, bike has bottles in cages, tires not centered over stems....etc. Its not like anyone is singling out your picture. Besides, even if everything I mentioned was in order its still a Not.

Seriously, you are OCP to the max.

BTW, no matter what wheelset you you put on you Crack-n-fail, it's not "hot".

It will always look like a billboard on wheels.

more like, He asked for it when he posted it in the hot OR Not thread. One should realize by now that everyone has different criteria for what is Hot or Not. On top of the bike being Hot or Not, there are "rules" to staging the bike, which I didn't make up. Sometimes the bike is just so freaking hot that the crank arm not being in the right position doesn't matter. BUT when you have a bike that is on the fence, anything that doesn't follow the "rules" is most likely going to be pointed out.

 Oh no....someone doesn't like my bike because I said I didn't like his friends bike and pointed out other things that weren't up to standards with the photo. I'm going for a walk along the river now.

You know how I know you saying my bike is a not, is "genuine"? Because out of times I have posted my bike, you have never been so strongly discusted with my bike till I made a comment about the photo you posted, which obviously made you angry. BUT you are entitled to you opinion.

I'll post my bike up against yours whenever you want and lets see who takes the poll though?

no, your bike isn't hot (IMO), but that has nothing to do with your opinion of my friend's bike.

I'm not a fan of bikes that look like rolling billboards.

My SO has a nice TT bike, but the wheelset she uses hurts my eyes, and it's got SRAM wiped all over it. A D6 with full Red, and deep Eastons is a great bike, but it hurts my eyes.

I'm not "discusted" with your bike, but it's not hot(IMO). Neither is my primary ride. You have a raging case of OCP, but I'm sure you'll get over it when you ride a little more.
