I still have to cut the steerer, but haven't ridden it enough to decide on stem position yet.

Funny thing is I've been riding on my heavy PT wheel and throwing whatever front wheel on there for a while so I noticed the air was way low on these tires.

That bar/lever combo just isn't aesthetically pleasing.

I'm ready. What should I change?

I dont think its anything you should change because you have a nice bike. I think it depends on who is looking at it.

My personal opinion though: I think +/-17 deg stems are ugly. I dislike the aero part of the frame behind the seatpost. With that kind of frame i would want to see the same shape aero seatpost. I usually do not like the aesthetics of shimano cranks, but your crank looks fairly good on this set up.

Not Hot for me but I would give it a second look.

Muffin Man 05-10-13 10:50 PM

-6 deg stem and slam it. I think the white stripe would look pretty good
And debadge the wheels if you can.

That being said, I like the frame, and I think it has potential.

i really do hate those xlab decals.

i agree on the aero part of the seat stay. if they had made a seatpost with the same aero shape i would be using it instead.

here is how i use to have my setup with +/-6 3t arx team stem but with 3t ergonova pro bars.

Taken in my garage due to rain, and with my Galaxy S4. So angle was a bit limited.

Hot!

Back in the saddle

After a long hiatus, I've finally replaced my 5.2 that was destroyed when I was hit by a vehicle in Sept '11. Some of you may recall the pics I posted back then of the lime green monster. I decided to go with something a bit more conservative this time around. :D

2012 Madone 6 Series P1
SRAM Force Groupo
Stock config - RXL's, etc...
Stem to be flipped (and probably replaced with a 110mm) as I get my chops and condition back up to par.

Loving the bike so far though, figured I'd post a few quick pics to the HRN thread.

I don't think he has any options otherwise, except those ugly ones that flare out to an "aero" shape. I think the problem with the stem is the way Specialized's head tubes extend way past the top tube.

I have heard those are really great frames though.

However, this is the "hot or not" thread. Looks are pretty much all that matter here. Doesn't matter how great of a frame it is. ;)

My wife and daughter don't like my new bike (Infinito). They tell me it's a chick color that even chicks don't like. One of the women where I work told me it looks ok "for a girl's bicycle." I think they're barbarians. I just got the bike, so I still have to remove some spacers, etc., but allowing for that, what say the BF?

Flip it and slam it. Otherwise, nice Bianchi.

As much as it pains me for a Bianchi/Campa pairing, I'm going to have to say Not.

As for color, Celeste is always awesome. They just don't understand the tradition behind it, like shaving legs which cyclists have been doing longer than women. Celeste is on a level like Rosso Corsa as far as cycling.

YOJiMBO20 05-11-13 12:31 PM

I'm a fan of celeste on a Bianchi. Non-cyclists don't get it.

Black bar tape, stem, saddle and seat post would be an improvement IMO

Minion--

I appreciate the bump and the kind words. I'm still not sure I can bring myself to cut the steerer, as it is the original custom steel fork. The crankset, on the other hand, will be replaced as soon as I can get my hands on the right replacement (I'm thinking a 7700 crank to match the rest of the drivetrain).

A couple more photos that highlight details that may have been overlooked:

Seat cluster - incredible craftsmanship.
