Nice chicks bike. Oh, and flip the damn stem.

2012 Madone 6 Series P1
SRAM Force Groupo
Stock config - RXL's, etc...
Stem to be flipped (and probably replaced with a 110mm) as I get my chops and condition back up to par.

Loving the bike so far though, figured I'd post a few quick pics to the HRN thread.

Too busy, I can't find the bike.

I dig it. And if your limber enough, flip the stem eventually. If not no reason to cripple yourself to appease the peanut gallery.

Bianchi with 11 speed Campy Record....I like it. I even like the white stem. Not nuts about the seat/post. I've got the same. Celeste....what can I say...the barbarians just don't get it.

Good point, or is it the bike that's too busy? ;)

Updated the pics with some cleaner shots...

Gerry Hull 05-12-13 07:19 AM

actually that's what I wish I had the patience to do to mine.
wet sanding through all that epoxy coating without destroying surrounding areas would be bloody murder though.
I like your bike in either livery, it's clean.

photoshop is fun sunday morning distraction.

shoota 05-12-13 07:21 AM

Dang flash yellow is all the rage now huh

Gerry Hull 05-12-13 07:24 AM

is that flash yellow?
my eyes have hardest time with yellows.

The basic paint scheme on these bikes is very intelligent, well thought through.
The white is open, friendly, broad, and clean.
Completely free of wanna-be.
it takes but a stripe of hot color (I slightly prefer the original red to the flash-yellow version) to indicate that it is capable, if it chooses to be, of focused aggression.

a cold color stripe (like the blue variation above) makes the bike totally passive, skirty.
This doesnt happen when the dominant base color is black.
here is the poor maligned 1x10 as example:
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=316357http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=316358
(This is merely an H or N sidebar on color here, not commentary on or a submission of overall hotness or notness)

The cool color blue in this context doesnt turn it skirty, and it harmonizes well.
Personally, I think I'd prefer it that way if I had the equipment to do it right. The bike is so hyperagressive that the red is redundant. I supppose double hyperaggressive is fine, but it's not in keeping with my personality. Blue would balance this out.

Red stripes, by far the best.

What would they know? HOT!

Ok, here is my latest: with compact cranks and unslammed stem and all :thumb:

Color coordination is fine IMO. Too many spacers under the stem.

bianchi10 05-12-13 03:09 PM

there is the obvious spacer stack. Those bars look huge, I dont like them aesthetically. Spinergy wheels are always very busy looking, so I prefer them without decals. close to a hot, but not as it sits.

Bike deserves a much better photo. I won't allow myself to rate it until then. :D

Funny enough, Bianchi Celeste is pretty much the primary reason i was able to get my wife into cycling with me....
She LOVED that color without even being privy to Bianchi...she collects glassware from a company called Fenton, popular in the 60s (she digs the retro stuff)...but only their AQUA hobnail, which is actually VERY close in color to Bianchi's Celeste....

So she never had any interest in cycling until i showed her various bianchi's in the celeste color, more specifically lugged steel ones, and suddenly she wanted a celeste bianchi haha (well, plus we had gotten into exercising together so this was a great way to do so)

i built her up a campione de italia, and since we've gone on a ride every sunday, and shes even done two metric centuries with me! here it is...not up for "hot or not" review haha just sharing...it might be obvious the top tube is too long for her...ive been on the lookout for the next size down (celeste bianchi of course) but for now this is functional for her...
