I would leave the crankset alone. It's not worth the cost at this point. Ride it and enjoy. This winter (if you have one where you are at) remove the wheel decals and go all black bar tape. It will clean things up and make the frame stand out.

Ok, she is finally presentable (i think). no more planned changes, except using my ultegra 6700 wheels instead of these power tap wheels. cant decide which i like better with the bike.

Not bad for a Trek.
Put it in the right gear combo and put a lower rise stem on (if you can reach) and we'll see where things go. |
Lower rise? I believe that's a flipped and slammed 6 deg.

The custom paint job saves the Trek in my opinion. While the Ultegra is highly functional, a black crankset would look soooo much better in this case.

If you look at the headtube of the trek it's like 1/3rd the height of the more modern cervelos and specialized. I guess the -6 deg stem is still lower than a -10 deg slammed stem on a cervelo rs tall headtube.

bianchi is correct, that is indeed a 6 degree stem, in the negative position. I did ride a -10 for a bit but i found that when i stood up to climb with my hands on the hoods, it didn't feel natural.
Gc3 I had a black crankset but because i am getting a stages power meter, I had to go with the ultegra. yojim, what is the correct gear combo? |
