Here is a good video explaining it form Sram. The 36cm is a good starting point but frame design and cables used will change that.

the wifey was standing off camera. We were doing the 3...2...1... Let go... Click... Catch. By the end, she got really good at it. Could levitate it for a few seconds before tipping :)
