I'd hate to have to close this thread. Really would.

You guys better let it go, don't care who or what started it, just let it go and get back to normal.

Chainrings are also Shimano.

Ok.
Not from the same group cause the 6600 used a spider type chainring.Dura Ace 7800, Tiagra chainrings perhaps?

Regardless your bike is hot!

Thanks. You are probably right. My wife's bike also has an early version of the 6700, and she has the same chainrings on hers. I don't know what they are, except for the brand.

They're the chainrings that come with the FCR 600 and FCR 700 compact cranksets.

That makes sense now...
I have the Dura Ace 7800, they look similar but not exactly the same as those rings.

Ok...so after my last post...which was summarily widely regarded as not hot....here is the before and after since today's visit to VeloSwap...

Before:
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=346764

And after...
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=346763

I think I want to go to black tape...red was the only thing I had in the garage and the old black stuff was trashed. And if I do that, not sure about the white saddle.

Swapped out a white post/black saddle for a white saddle/black post...???
;)

Aesthetically; the stem is too short, the saddle is too forward, and my skewers are all jacked up, but it fits. The hoods also look a little strange. I might have to play with them a little.

Looks nice. But what really bothers me about this bike is the short stem and the saddle pushed ALL the way forward. It leads me to believe that the bike is too big for you. Just my honest observation. Check your fit.
Cheers

I'd put the black saddle back on, but regardless...Much gooder!

Some of us need short stems. I am one that does.

Thanks. It's a 53 and I have a 32 inch inseam. Standover height seems to be perfect. My issue is that I have a relatively short torso and wingspan, plus I like riding in a relaxed position. I am trying to increase my bend at the waist, which should allow me to eventually either move the saddle back, increase the stem length, or maybe both. I've had reach issues with every bike that I've owned, and I've tried 52, 53, and 54. Maybe someday I'll invest in a custom build.

Doesn't look too crazy. A zero setback post would help, and the stem could be longer with some newer shifters with shorter reach. Frame looks pretty small, not sure stock ones get much smaller with 700c wheels.

It's pretty warm.

You should not be trying to fix reach with saddle position.

 I didn't even think of it that way!!! But really...not so much, the black post to match the black stem and bars. Maybe keep the white saddle and do white Fizik tape??? I dunno...don't get me wrong, I like it this way, but I love the opinions and feedback. A lot of very good rides here lately.

Per request of some guys here I took a better picture with the adjusted saddle and fixed chain. two pics

Just giving you a hard time! It this only place we get away with it. ;)

I use white Fizik tape on 3 of my bikes, I like the feel, & it cleans up easy/nicely.
Have you thought about half white/red?

I luv your bike!
Matching cages is the only thing I can find, maybe black hoods, although I find the reds work in this case.
I'm a Shimano fan boi, but SRAM Red would fit this build perfectly.

not for me....

go black tape, saddle, and tires...then it might have a chance, with proper staging etc...
