Nice work. That head tube looks bigger than the rest of the frame, is that a standard geometry S-Works?

Thats a standard head tube for a 61 S-Works .... 6-4" = big head tube!! hahaha

I think its a nice color choice. Unique and really stands out.

There are two things that bug me about the bike.

1) SRM Power Meter is just plain ugly. If you could get a black version it would help, but it may be just too bulky and beyond help.

2) Cables. Sloping top tubes just don't look right with external cables. There's this weird gap that looks unfinished.

Just so everyone lightens up about the crank and pink power meter ....That crank and power meter is from my coach and is pink because it was his late daughters favorite color. I could change both of them but they are staying as is to honor his daughter. As long as I race bikes...both of them will be on my bikes !!!!

Just a heads-up for you as a newbie: around here, people's legs are a lot faster than their synaptic transmissions. Presumably. ;)

Give Specialized a call and tell them that..hahaha ...I would love a smaller head tube but I cant get the 17 year old Chinese kids making these bikes to cooperate ;-)

I am 6'4" as well (not that that has all that much to do with it). Here's my fit on two bikes. Both are fairly normal head tubes (58ish size bikes), the November head tube is 19 mm and works very nicely with minimal spacers.

Given the stem you're using, it looks like you could use a bit shorter head tube.

Thanks but Specialized doesn't offer a smaller head tube in a 61 ...that's what I keep saying ;-) it is what it is and works out fine

wut? It looks like a lot of head tube to me, even for a 61 cm frame and I asked a question.

What is your beef?

It I find I bike hot, I'll say so.
Sometimes I agree with others sometimes I don't.

1) im not a photographer. photo suggestions welcome.
2) component (aesthetic) suggestions welcome, although the build isn't likely to change
3) yes, those are monodisperse silica nanoparticles that I made at work on the poster. in case you were dying to know.

Never been a fan of the "Hell Bent" post, would rather see a post with off set if that helps solve a fit issue. The bike speaks SRAM but I see a Shimano crank. Would look much nicer with a SRAM crank. Straight forks also bug me and the bars look too "old skool". My guess is the front end is a bit sketchy in corners? All this from a die-hard C'dale owner too.:o
Cheers

Hot.

@ hed210.
This is the most opinionated thread in all of BF, dont take things too personal. There's a certain standard bikes must meet to be considered "Hot" by most in this thread.

Like I said your bike is Hot in my eyes, because its different.
It catches my eye, & probably would more in person .
"We can't win then all..."

I love my bikes, but none of them are "Hot in hurr".
I built them they way I wanted them, & they fit my needs.
Don't worry about the negative comments, we're a bunch of critics I here. :thumb:

Damn you....

Now I'm looking at buying new bars! I wasn't REALLY thinking about it until I saw your bars again. I like that shape a lot. Looks like plenty of clearance from your forearms hitting the top tube while in the drops.

How do you like the shape of the FSA vs the ergo shape you have on your november bike? I have Ritchey superlogic Evolution bars with an ergo drop and I have liked them, but I'm not extremely fond of the shape aesthetically.

HAHAHA.....What people say is up to them ...That is a race bike and isn't meant to look all pretty for a sunday rec rid ....lol
Its all good ....it serves the purpose and that's why it was built that way....

The ergo ones on the November are Pro Vibe carbon. They are sort of semi compact (fairly short reach, but deepish drop).

For me the compact bend works better, especially for crits where I spend an hour or so at a time in the drops. Since I broke the Guru I moved the compact bars over to the November. They are a bit heavier, but the improved fit (slightly shorter reach brought the November fit closer to my "ideal") is nice.

bianchi10 10-27-13 10:22 AM

good to know. Thanks for the info. I am about to pull the trigger on an FSA Nano light compact UD set. They are supposed to weigh in at 185g for 42mm bars. Thats lighter than my ritchey bars.

:O hope you also pulled the trigger on a kforce stem and sp! :)

Lol, I haven't pulled a trigger on anything yet. Wont do an FSA stem or seatpost. Too heavy. IF, I do the FSA bars, it will be very difficult for me to have mismatched equiptment. Unfortunately, Ritchey doesn't make a bar that has the short and shallow compact bar that FSA or Zipp makes and this is the shape of bar that I'm looking for.

fact check (if thats what your looking for): http://www.bikeradar.com/us/road/new...and-mtb-38801/
first handlebar photo down the page, i like the shape a bit more than anything else ritchey has put out. Though my new zipps are to die for (sl-80)

bianchi10 10-27-13 03:25 PM

thanks for finding and sharing those. though the shape is similar, it is not as close to what I'm looking for. AND, the big no go on those is 253g. whatever bar I go with, I will stay sub 200g. the claimed weight on the FSA Nano light bar is 185g for 42cm bars
