Well, seems like this thread has certainly lost its purpose a couple of dozen pages ago. It went from what the title says to "post any bike".

Yeah... we already have a "show us your road bike" thread :(

i think if it doesn't have race wheels it shouldn't be in here...cause let's face it, with the exception of a few sweet vintage bikes if it's not racing it's not hot.

disagree, sometimes low profile rims make a bike look straight sexy as a climbing bike

i only said that because i can't afford deep profile carbon wheels :( i'm a poor college student rocking fulcrum 7's, but i'd like to think my bike looks nice...

Not Hot...Just not sure why...

I was expecting abuse just for putting a Scattante in this thread, but in looking at the bikes that are indeed hot, I think the geometry is a bit open in the front on mine (more rake or just because it's a 61?). I like the racy look of the CAAD 9 and the Soul. The Scott.. not so much.

People who judge a bike simply by the name on the down tube are ignorant at best.....

agreed, as I mentioned I think the geometry / larger sizes generally, just don't look as cool as say a 58cm or smaller.

Dick Rhee 02-13-10 09:50 PM

I don't think a bike has to be a race bike to be hot, but I do think that bikes without something that resembles a race fit look pretty wonky.

Dick Rhee 02-13-10 11:15 PM

Anyway, I figure I may as well post this. It's not my race bike, but I still think it's pretty sweet. I may swap the stem with something that matches the aesthetic, and the stock saddle will soon be replaced with an Arione (the same saddle on my other two rides).

Dick - very nice retro look. Good character. HOT in my books.

mzeffex 02-13-10 11:24 PM

Allez is hot. I really like the rear fender flap.

javal 02-14-10 02:24 AM

Top notch Shoebomber! Hot is the word!

Dick Rhee 02-14-10 02:26 AM

Thanks! Not bad for a $600 bike, right?

A nice retro-looking stem is the TTT Mutant, and you can save some money on the Arione with the Nashbar GR2.

This is what the Mutant looks like and I have seen them for 1 1/8 steerers as well.

Here's my Waterford 2200 ... decked out in a custom Waterford maize and blue repaint.
Edit: How do I post pics so they are larger in the actual thread vs. having to open a thumbnail?

How to turn a single speed commuter into a track bike. (really... I have a velodrome local.)
http://www.practicalalchemy.org/%7En...sSST-AL_09.JPG

Now I wonder where my pictures of the bike with the new saddle are...
http://www.practicalalchemy.org/%7En...tishPenna8.JPG

Be honest :-) I take enough heat for having sora shifters on a $1000 frame.

Now I realise I really need to get updated pictures of my rides. Even my beater is "dated" as it's got a new stem on it.

Methinks I need to fix these pictures problems soon. Perhaps Friday.

Edit: The artifacting is driving me crazy. Just click the pictures to see the good stuff.

You're only fooling yourself if you think that's a $1000 frame. And it's ugly.
