Yea but no way will you get MSRP selling them used. I was assuming they would be sold for ~$1000

thirdgenbird 02-20-10 11:14 PM

i may be buying a frame that comes with a tompson seatpost, deda stem, and chris king headset

i spent 20 min and threw on some of my 8spd campy to see what it might look like (not set to fit):

if built it would wear Record 8spd cranks and brifters with chorus everywhere else.

Got recomendations for fixing it? Or just gonna stand at the "it's ugly" It's $999 list. Or at least it was. I got it cheap used. And it's lighter than most carbon frames.

There's no fixing it, it's ugly. And the $1000 thing is ridiculous, list or no list.

It seems this has become the not hot thread.

well you're certainly personable aren't you! nerobro, all white frames can look absolutely pimp. just my opinion, but find yourself a white fork (or sand, repaint, reclearcoat as white) and go with red accents all around. a nicer groupset wouldn't hurt either :)

I'm gonna stick with the I'm a big meanie head defense. But I feel like to be fair I should offer up my bike for a critique.

The only change is a sram force crankset to replace the worn out FSA jobber.

i vote not... the white stem feels so freakin out of place here...

What about the uncut steerer?

I think I like the white fork idea on my bike... And the wheels have to go. There's just to much bontranger on that puppy. But first comes getting a new stem, after last season the 50mm feels really short.

kevntri 02-21-10 05:38 AM

1st road bike...... I switched it over to a double and 105 components with new rims.
Most likely not real hot to you guys, but it puts down the miles and I like it.

Hot. It will be even hotter when you put 1000 more miles on it and replace the tires with solid black ones.

availpunk9 02-21-10 08:03 AM

^ I like it.

I've never liked the lines on that frame. But the picture was well taken, maybe a different set of rims?, the tires are throwing me off too. The stem looks nice with it!

i think my caad9 is guilty of the uncut steerer too... so i'll just keep my mouth shut on that ;)

Don't worry, I have a longer black 3T on the way. And I'm seriously considering removing the decals from the wheels.

norymeoreason41 02-22-10 07:45 PM

I've posted this everywhere else, so why not?

1500g is WAY heavier than most carbon frames. Most current aluminum frames too.

1200g isn't, that's a 50cm. http://www.fetishcycles.com/road/penna/index2006.html Mine is a 2006, with the shaped aero tubing, versus the new , heavier ones with just butted round tubing.

Butted round tubing is lighter than aero tubing. Have you weighed your frame?
