Agreed, love these bars.

This is like asking what saddle we recommend. In the end, it's going to come down to what's comfortable for you. I happen to like traditional bend bars (I have 3T Rotundos), but personal preference varies. Before buying $150+ bars, try a couple inexpensive bars and get a feel for what shape works for you.

I recently got the new Thomson carbon road bar, but then I got a Deda superleggero stem...so maybe I'll have to get the matching Deda bars....

Anyhow, the Thomson is pretty nifty, not traditional but not overly compact either...very light but probably too pricey....

When I cut my steerer, can I barrow someone's white garage door to pose my bike in front of?

chil2makefun 05-25-13 03:18 PM

if i were you, even if it would be only for the picture i'd change a few things
get rid of the saddle bags, rotate your bars a bit down, slam and maybe flip that stem and lastly line up the valves a six o'clock
but even then it'd look a bit odd because it's a fairly big frame size so...
it's a not for now

thechemist 05-25-13 03:27 PM

flip it

spectastic 05-25-13 06:13 PM

those bikes must feel twitchy

Herbie53 05-25-13 07:11 PM

given the set up above, this may have been a better choice...

No, that's what happens when you try to be pro.

Stop impressing people here. You know you're in severe pain post ride.

Not. Your bar position is all messed up, stem needs to be flipped, spacer tower, valve stems, saddle bag, and you should probably debadge those wheels. Too bad because this bike has potential.

How about tis? Without the bike lights and with soul s4.0 wheels

Anymore comments...??

elcruxio 05-26-13 01:19 AM

Tall headtubes just look bad. As simple as that.
That's why extra tall riders have it tough. Either ride a bike that's so ugly you make little children cry or use get used to a really low position.

I finally completed my custom Parlee Z1 build - down to the custom Speedplay Zero " long Ward Titanium" pedals. It currently weighs 6.5 kg, including the uncut seatpost and heavy SMP Lite 209 saddle.

http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=319246

The build is 99.9% complete, since no bike is ever complete. I am still thinking about how to get a cleaner front end with the DI2 wiring and brake cables, without resorting to custom stems and such.

http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=319247

I will posting another thread on the custom build process and the complete component build list.

Mark

You do not need to be 20 something or super flexible to buy a bike that fits correctly.
