The audacity! OH THE AUDACITY!

"OH HELLL NOOO" LOL.

To think, I could not get this man to buy a bicycle 3 years ago. Now he is a roadie in the truest form, routinely smokes me on rides, and then...copies my build/theme WHILE ONE UPPING ME ON ALLLL THE PARTS...

Like son like father? Now my bike is just whatever...thanks, Dad!

Just kiddin', pops. Your build is awesome.

I'd rather have you building bikes than buying golf clubs, cigars, and Tommy Bahama shirts!

Love you, Dad! Just givin' you sh*t! (I learned that from you!) Great attention to detail, sir! Best of you all, you built it!

Let's ride soon!

I actually like this one better, aesthetically, out of the two. You and your dad have the same bike? That's pretty cool!

Smoking hot.

NathanC 04-05-11 04:35 AM

Jae's frame with the Boyd wheels would be perfect combo.

Namenda 04-05-11 04:48 AM

They're both hot, but I prefer "dad's" bike. Maybe because of the frame size, since there's no way I could ride the other one. ;)

mmac 04-05-11 09:41 PM

Getting it tuned in, it's a trek 1.2 with a few upgrades.

+1 to both bikes but I think they'd look better if you swapped wheels. The red in the 2011 frame would match with the Williams wheels and the white decals on the Boyd would look great with the black/white earlier model PF.

I feel I've finally achieved a level of perfection with my bike. So I feel it is time to ask you weenies. Hot or Not?

You're going to make me buy Fibre-Lyte chainrings, pulleys, and lighter bottle cages aren't you?

sbxx1985 04-06-11 08:06 AM

That Soloist is hot. Nice work, OCLV.

sbxx1985 04-06-11 08:06 AM

What's the final weight?

Very HOT!! White saddle and (while not practical) white bar tape sends it to RED HOT!!

It's still at 13.29lbs or 6030g as pictured. I am still contemplating the above mentioned changes, and possibly heavier Zipp Vuka Sprint bars, but as it sits, it is fantastic. I should really just stop buying bike parts, it's great.

Hell no.

LAJ 04-06-11 08:29 AM

Nice job, Assassin.

Breal 04-06-11 08:41 AM

agreed, smoking hot!!

psuaero 04-06-11 08:46 AM

HOT... I like the current configuration with black seat/bar tape! Cervelo is a dream bike for me and this one has it all... I really like the paint and slightly fatter seat stays of this SLC over the newer S2/S3 models.

rat fink 04-06-11 08:52 AM

Soloist, does that hood position work for you, really? It just looks as funky as hell. The bike is otherwise hot, but I liked a previous variation when you were running a Force or Red crank with (I think) TA chain rings. I know the Lightning's light, but it looks like a cheaper version of the S-Works crank to me.

thanks I agree on all accounts, I searched high and low to find the older SLC frameset new, when I got it at the end of 09.

I get that allot about the hoods. I demoed a bike with that setup years back. I liked it so much, I've been running all my bikes like that ever since. It gives more comfortable hand positions. and I can get lower, and more aero. I disagree on the crankset preference as well. The Red/Chris King/KCNC crank is a nice setup, but nowhere near as nice as the 150g less setup I am using now. The Zipp ceramic BB is the smoothest I've ever used, and I used a Chris King BB with the Red crank. Lightning actually developed the crankset, and then sold the design to Specialized. It's one of my favorite upgrades so far. For those that don't know me, this is the setup you are speaking of:

Again I prefer the current version. :)

rat fink 04-06-11 09:39 AM

Yeah, it's just an aesthetic preference, but I liked that version better. As for the fit, do what works for you. The bike is still hot.

sbxx1985 04-06-11 09:44 AM

My Record hoods are positioned similarly.
