Assless chaps would be daring, audacious, and provocative. Do you think those are hot as well?

Thanks for your concern. I already own the frameset http://www.bikeforums.net/road-cycli...l#post17016072. You might want to wait until they drop before calling me son. Until than keep swinging off WhyFi's

RPK79 09-05-14 09:09 AM

Not mine, but I have the same brake pads and cable housing so fire away :)

Don't lie about having the same brake pads.

You got me. I very well might have those tubes though.

Home made bamboo frame. First ride today.

Mix of new 105 and secondhand Dura Ace components. Open Pro with Shimano hubs.

Hot.

Well done. I briefly considered doing the DIY bamboo frame, but chickened out.

I bought a kit that had all the extra things you need (like the jig parts) to do it. Hero Bike.

Was actually quite easy and they had some quite detailed 'how to' videos. However, I do confess that I'm pretty handy and have built all sorts of things before (ex-highschool woodwork teacher and have worked as a rowing club 'boatman').

Had my first long ride on it today, including a couple of descents. It rides well with no problems (wobbles). Very smooth, but that could be the 440mm long chain stays as much as the bamboo tubing. Bottom bracket has a ton of carbon in it and there was no visible movement when under power.

2011 Guru Praemio frame with components transferred from my old bike. I have short legs/long torso so not much drop to bars. Might lose the spacers at some point and cut down the steerer tube.

Not "hot", but it's not a bad looking bike. I'd lower the levers a bit, and maybe rotate the bars a tiny amount lower.

If you had any goddamned clue, you would understand that "the same frame" means jack squat in hot-or-not. Different sizes of the same frame can have very different lines and proportions - some more pleasing than others. Even if it's the same frame in the same size, the endless combinations of equipment to outfit the frame with will have a huge impact on how visually appealing it is. Going a step further and assuming that it's the same frame, the same size and same build list, how it's set up can vary wildly and will also have a huge impact on how appealing it is. IOW, posting a bike owned by someone else in no way reflects how your bike will look and how it will be received. I'm oh-so-happy that you're enthusiastic about your upcoming build, but this is not yet the thread to hook the validation that you're obviously fishing for.

Sorry WhyFi, but it must be said.

You're supposed to be nice in this thread. The butthurt is huge if you say anything contrary to what the person displaying the bike wants to hear. Above all, this is the anti-butthurt thread.

Now please give him his participation medal.

WhyFi 09-06-14 01:09 PM

I said that I was happy for him... kind of... :o

:innocent:

LAJ 09-06-14 01:11 PM

I guess that's kind of like giving him his well deserved medal. :thumb:

Weird, isn't it. Though, that one turned into the Vintage/Retro Hot or Not, and seat wedges and water bottles became the theme of the day.

Or we could just change the name of this one to 'hot or hot'

Made a few changes to the Lynskey

One reason was to put the white Arione on my Giant TCR.
