r e s p e c t - Bike looks great! Seatpost (which I assume isn't handmade) is awful, imo. But Bike? Two thumbs up only cuz I don't have 3 hands….

Thanks, but I obviously don't need any help with that. Why else?

Seat post is a Thomson.

He's no PCAD...but by your less than witty response neither are you... Keep practicing son. It will come. Now off you go until you can gather enough shillings to buy your own bike and post it. That's sorta how it works ....:banned:

Yes meaning only if you have someone to clean and re tape should you try to rock white.

Black only. When I see colored tape I think either its a woman's bike, someone new to cycling, or some weird Fred who thinks every inch of the bike needs to be color coordinated.

Pshaw! While black bar tape won't lose you any hot points, it certainly won't gain you any, either.
New, clean and flawless is only that. If it can't stand to show a little dirt or wear, or if it's merely a safe choice, it's NOT hot.

To each his own, I think colored and white bar tape or saddles look tacky or like you're trying too hard. This is not a hot or not point of view, it's a matter of looking "right".

Yes, but this is the "hot r not" thread, not the "proper r not" thread. :)
So what about tan leather tape on C&V bikes? Proper, hot, r neither?

Bar tape is to be black. The exceptions are for kids, women, and just about no one else. If you like it that's fine but white looks like dirt color in a week and color matching is just... Attention *****ish for an adult man.

Also if it's not proper or right, how could you think it qualifies as "hot"?

Well, I don't know about you, but when I think 'hot,' I don't think 'cautious, conventional and meek,' I think 'daring, audacious, and provocative,' none of which are particularly synonymous with 'proper.'

By the way, I'm more a proponent of 'righteousness' than 'hotness' when it comes to design, I'm just pointing out the difference.
