For something different: my custom brass top cap made by Bart at WIND cycleworks to join a Campagnolo bolt which is - IMHO - absolutely perfect...

2002 Fuji Roublaix completely rebuilt from the ground up.

Powder coated the frame, new groupset, wheel bearings/freehub, headset/bar/stem, etc.

Still debugging and few minor details to take care of but 99.9% done. I wrenched everything myself except truing the wheels. 18.4 lbs as pictured.

Very nice! Somewhat plain, but very good looking and nicely put together.

Very nice build. Check those rear pads, they look a little high to me.

My daughter the artists said the same thing - too plain, looks like it needs something, etc.

We are scouring the interwebz for the correct decals but can't seem to find them and will likely email velocals.com to see if they can be made.

Yeah, I caught that when I looked at the pictures. Thanks!

So are road adventure bikes allowed? Sort of a mix between cross, road and mountain bike so I a call manbearpig. Will eventually replace the tan elements :D

It is. I wanted to get some pics up as the Olympics and the vids online don't do the frame justice. The color change is far more gradual than the vids show. Rode a century this weekend in the hot humid South East. The frame was orange or some mix orange/yellow (as in the pic) far longer than I expected.

Could be a warranty issue. :)

^^^ Hot.

Why isn't the top tube decal visible in the first photo? I think that it looks much better without, in any event.

I removed them on both sides, the first picture is more recent, the others were before removal. Agreed it looks way better! I may take all the decals off completely

sbxx1985 08-15-16 02:33 PM

I'd keep the Merlin decal.

I saw that bike when it was being built at the shop. I have to say it's quite a looker. Very hot.
