Old news.

Who uses only one bottle(other than pros with domestiques to support them)?

One bottle was fine for Houston today on a 30 miler. Honestly I forgot to carry two and was surprised myself that the single bottle held up. It was warm but not hot and a bit drier than usual. On my daily 15-20 milers all through the summer I only carry one. One hour, one bottle seems to work fine.

I've come back for redemption!

I just threw on the seat real quick for the picture, so forgive it for not being set perfect.

Still a NOT for me. You took the time to put the saddle on, but didn't level it? I am sorry, but WTF is that? Tires are still not lined up with the valves. Presentation looks dirty because it is in the dirt. Fork may not be dirty, but after seeing it in the dirt, it starts to look dirty. And the big thing for me, it looks like you are cross chaining. Huge no no. This thread is purely about aesthetics, and this bike wouldn't get a second look from most people. It is better than before, but still not there.

While it might not meet "hot" standards. I rode that bike around Hawk Hill in SF and it was a really fun bike to ride. Congrats on your purchase.

The bike industry really loves white black and red bikes.

New wheels and bar tape day. Couldn't find a wall to lean against, sorry for the distracting background of a scarily low California reservoir...

GlennR 10-18-15 07:51 PM

Glad you opted for the black Zipp logos, white would of been too distracting.

^ Take those yellow and red logos off the wheels, totally kill the otherwise very cohesive color scheme.

New handlebars and another silver bottle cage will not redeem you.

Improper background
Improper side of bike to take a picture of
Improper position of tire valves in picture
Tires are not lined up with valves
Improper crank arm positioning
Bar angle is odd
Stem angle is too high
Saddle
Saddle bag
Saddle bag light

The bike has potential, but in the current picture, it is extremely far from a hot.

What is the proper positioning of the valves?

Not only is it 6 o clock, but the tire should be lined up with the valve, as pictured below. This is common practice or should be.

Nice bike, & setting (I rode by there yesterday, twice).
Why is there a capital T on the fork, but lower case elsewhere?

I guess it's just their alternate logo for when the whole word does't fit; top cap has same capital T logo. It also has the same font all-lowercase "tommaso" really small across it on the fork (but not the top cap).

I disagree. The logos are fine, add interest, and make the bike look like something a person would actually use. Same with the touch of red on the shifters - minor highlights that contrast, but don't fight with the general black-with-blue scheme.

In fact, I think it works very nicely, because the dominance of blue over red and yellow is sufficiently strong and similar to the dominance of black over blue, and the matching intensity of the colors makes the whole thing look lively.

What I find more distracting are the bright rear derailleur and the bar tape that's glossier than the frame.

And it's a lovely frame, by the way.

I will allow 12 o'clock too...especially if you're OCD like me and run the valve at the middle "N" in CONTINENTAL (5 letters on each side)...that way your tires can be read when staged. The above bike isn't OCD enough, lol. If he wanted to get fancy, he could have hidden the speed magnet behind a seat stay...just have to move it to a different spoke.

Also, all bikes posted yesterday are sexy!

Not mine, but seen on a group ride during the Worlds week here. Yea, wrong side, bad setup, ect., but it's the first of these new Venges I've seen and it felt like I was looking at an F1 car rather than a bike with some of the detailing. What say you guys on this thing's aesthetics?

Some aero bikes are fugly like the S5, but I dig the new Venge. Wouldn't buy one myself because of the brakes and cable routing issues.

A relatively new expensive bike and this guy is riding around without a bar end plug? NOT

Lol, this was at the Rapha pop up store in Richmond after our ride with them plus Ted King, pretty sure the guy with the Venge was one of the company's executives. Guess he can't afford the plugs :(

Dan333SP 10-19-15 02:29 PM

Maybe this thread isn't the right venue for this, but I also saw this parked around the Worlds course-

http://i1326.photobucket.com/albums/...psbs1gtazp.jpg

I'd think you would have to be about 6'8" to ride a frame that large...

SpeshulEd 10-19-15 03:55 PM

The stem/bar combo on the new venge just looks so weird.
