Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wait Dr. Pete, aren't you a Republican? Not that there's anything wrong with that.

So yes, you have heard the southern ice cap is in fact growing, you can't think of an intelligent rebuttal, so we have the above rambling

Public utilities have the right to put terms on usage of whatever they are selling, if they want to say your max water use is X gallons then you have to follow that.
He pays taxes therefore he's entitled to city services, especially city services he pays for according to his usage.

Actually it's the newspaper that's doing the shaming. They apparently sought out the records.

Maybe he had to drain/refill the pool.

Edit: nevermind, my math is off.

Yeah, he pays his taxes, etc., but draining natural resources just because "it's paid for" isn't a right, in my opinion.

Actually, I hadn't. Apparently I'm a Lazyass.

Assuming this is true, the point of the politics behind global warming isn't that the entire globe is warming, it's that we are F'ing up the planet. Some places warmer, some colder, some smoggier, beaches creeping in, ecosystems collapsing, etc. Finding some place in the world that is getting colder doesn't mean pollution is good for the world.

Edit - I just did my research and 90% of what I find says that while small parts are growing, this is due to the much larger meltoff on the thinner edges, which is causing more snow to fall, thus increasing the thicker central areas.

Global warming or not....why would people be against developing alternative energy sources that would create whole new massive industries and employ millions of Americans? Clinging to 20th century industry won't work....that battle has been lost overseas. Time to adapt and reassert yourself as a world leader, or slowly watch the decline you've been seeing since the 80's.

Unless people just want to play partisan politics so they can say "Ah ha! I told you so!! Stupid liberals". Which seems WAY more important that being on the cutting edge.....you know....the place that made America so rich and powerful in the first place.

Just because you pay taxes does not actually entitle you to services that are in excess and harm the greater good. Notice you can pay gas tax but you have to respect the weight limit and dimensional limits to use the roads, just because you pay for roads does not mean you can use them if your vehicle is say 14 feet tall.

Texans enjoy a God Given Birthright to $1.00/gallon gas and unlimited water for their swimming pools.
