I don't need to work out
I just thought I'd let you all know that I have transcended the human need for 'exercise.' I haven't ridden my bike in about 2 months. On Friday I did 38 solo miles at medium pace. I knew I had to wake my body up for the group ride on Sunday. Today on the group ride I was out front leading at 22-25 mph and barely breathing, which I thought was extremely weird. Near the end of the ride everybody started getting sprinty, and I was cruising by people while sitting down at 35 mph. I usually only hit about 38 in a sprint. No, there was no tailwind. I'm not sure what to equate my godly abilities to, but somehow I'm riding better now than I was when I was (or so I thought) in shape.

Exactly. Once you get to dreamland, phrases like "usually only hit 38 in a sprint" make more sense...
Although, I was on a recreational century today where a fair number of people looked like they were holding cruising speeds in the 22-25 range. It seems reasonable that a sufficiently strong rider could pull off 38 miles like that after some time off the bike.

I should clarify that I was not leading at 22-25 for the entire 45 mile ride. The 38 miler was my solo on Friday, today was 45. This was only the last 15 miles. But still.
