Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Isn't it though?

It does come early, doesn't it? Calling those stupid freezing races in Manhattan in March the 'Spring Series' is like calling the friggin Steppes of Khazakstan 'Bermuda'.

Maybe.

I've been riding in the rain and wind, hopefully I'm getting stronger.

Only if today is opposite day.

And gstein -- are you trying to topple Pcad's position as official thread starter of BF?

The best way to achieve this is Dominos Interval Training.

Two slices, recover, two more slices, etc. Do that 20x and you have 2 x 20s.

I've dropped 5 lbs since October, while adding just a bit of muscle mass to my arms n shoulders.

This past Sunday in the crit I chased the break for about 5 laps, couldn't get across to them but the pack wasn't catching me either.

So I guess I'm doing ok.

I'm getting fast-ish, or at least my numbers are pretty good. But this'll be my first season racing. So until those first couple races, I won't really know

Nah...same tired engine. Adhering to last years race strategy, Show up, Keep up and Shut Up. No need to be faster unless the group gets faster.

You go right on thinking that. If this place is stupid it's because of the inane threads YOU start as if it were some kind of mission...

I do my best Mitchy. And don't be so friggin testy. What's your friggin problem, you live in Wussyland where it's 70º all winter, it's flat as a pancake and everybody's sunburned and drunk.
