Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yes I wear them. Yes, they seem to work. The skins "travel and recovery" have seemed to work for me for both travel and recovery.

My LBS (Australia) has the cycling specific ones with chamois in stock. Not cheap, about AU$260 for B&B short knicks, AU$300 for bib longs.

Hi,

One of my teammates told me about these before Thanksgiving. My LBS had a 30% off sale after Thanksgiving (I normally get a 20% club discount) so I bought them (2XU brand) in a size small (5' 7", 155lbs). I've been wearing them after hard rides and they seem to work for me.

I am also interested in the aspect of using them for flying. My feet swell on flights longer than an hour so I will try them on my next business trip. Glad to hear that they work for some of you in that aspect.

All high end bibs and bib tights have compression technology built into them.

The Skins recovery gear I buy(both figuratively and literally), but I'd go w/ a more cycling specific company for real riding gear imo.

The test of time is an important one. Basically skins needs to prove themselves in the bike department.

Who Knows, maybe they're owned by assos or something.

Anecdote:

I did a hard ride (280 TSS) yesterday. Put on the tights after coming home and got on with the rest of my day, which included grocery shopping, going to Lowe's, church, etc. I wore the tights from immediately after my shower until this morning.

I took off the tights to get dressed for work and within 5-10 minutes my legs felt the usual sense of fatigue that comes after a tough day in the saddle. Legs have been sore pretty much all day here at the office. I can't wait to get home for my recovery ride and more time with the tights.

YMMV.

I guess not all TSS is created equal. This ride was TSS: 437.4 (intensity factor 0.797):

https://bimactive.com/ba/journal/post/10783/19762

...over 100 miles and I was ready to come back for another century the following day. Unfortunately, the second one got cancelled by the ride leader, but I was at the ride start... waiting.

Perhaps, I should try the graduated compression tights. Maybe, I'll recover quicker than I am.

my IF was well above yours - don't have the numbers in front of me now but definitely involved a lot of match burning.

Cool!

And, that was my point. TSS has no context without IF.

nah man, they are locally owned. One of the majour owners rides a lot.

They had to run a series of tv ads here in Australia as the original advertising for the products had sport stars using them and making claims that the skins were so good and they had all paid full rrp for them on their own.

they were forced to run tv ads to explain that it was misleading.

Still a good product though.

Got my travel recovery tights in yesterday. I can say that they fit nice. I'm 5'8"-5'9" , 131 lbs and the XS fit perfect. Looking forward to trying them out later this week and on my next flight.

+1, thanks for the heads up . That worked out better than paying $78 + shipping to Chain Reaction.

Just got my Skins and they feel so good.

First piece of clothing I've ever bought that came with an attached CD.

Now, I just have to figure out if the underwear goes under or over...

Anyway, I told you naysayers they work.

Are the "normal" Skins tights (black with yellow seams) meant to give any recovery advantage?
