Oh, I forgot about my new Sigma Rox 9.0 that I already ordered but is still backordered. I also ordered an Ultegra chain and two new GP4000S tires from PBK.

I'll be doing my part to stimulate the economy. Between paying for schooling, paying for bike stuff, and paying a ton of taxes since I'm single and young.

Yep, nothing to do with being beat down from 20+ hours a week of IM training, or splitting time between 3 disciplines.

I'm going to beat you this yeah my friend! :D

f4rrest 02-01-09 09:26 PM

I got a planet bike blinky. That should do it.

Careful, wouldn't want to over-stimulate the economy now and cause hyper inflation. (thx for the tip)

AlexTaylor 02-01-09 09:42 PM

I got me a Powertap SL, WKO+ and Training Peaks subscription.

That'll do pig....

Want to Get:
Into grad school.

Really, everything else is just gravy. As far as the bike goes, the only thing I am 100% committed to for this season is a pair of Look Keo Sprints. Not exactly High Bike Schwag material, but I'm sick to death of my SPDs. Of course, new tires, but that's a necessity. I am also contemplating new wheels, most likely Soul S 3.0's, but that will depend upon whether I ever get a frickin' job. Damn this economy, I graduated at the wrong time.

But above all, the grad school. Yeah, I know that the pay doesn't sound enticing, but I will be living as a veritable king compared to the last five years - new wheels and more will certainly be mine. This September, I hope to be riding in Nashville or Davis. Ah, winters away from the Great White North - it is a dream I have.

I'm going to count my late dec '08 purchases.. with my '09 purchases

'08 Orbea Orca Frame
'09 SRAM Red group
ITM K-Sword stem & bar
Mavic Ksyrium ES wheelset
Specialized Toupe saddle

dark13star 02-01-09 09:50 PM

Just ordered two pairs of Assos bibs from wiggle and am buying some new Williams System 19 climbing wheels, but really keeping things modest. Last year I spent about $10k on bikes and equipment, but my wife is out of work now, and that cuts back on some of our play money. Travel comes first and then bikes and photography when it comes to disposable income. Bikes are much cheaper than photography though so it is good to have something for perspective.

Renovating house and design includes entire new room dedicated to bikes/training. That's right. I'm building a house for my bikes. What could be stupider and more schwagaholic than that.

That is awesome.

aham23 02-01-09 10:06 PM

meh, i will likely spend more this year on bike schwag then any other. thanks to the wife and i receiving nice promotions in recession proof fields of employment. i just have not decided on how to spend our winfall. ;) later.

wcoastbikr 02-01-09 10:06 PM

I bought new shoes and new socks. Nothing like a brand new pair of nice cycling socks. :thumb:

I've been wanting to try track cycling, I've been looking and doing my research...still not decided. Think I might rent and try it out first. If I like it I'm definitely going to buy a track bike/frame.

kergin 02-01-09 10:20 PM

Only a couple big things I can think of - maybe a set of good, strong wheels like Chris King, WI, or DTs and a single speed for my sister's birthday.

Scummer 02-01-09 10:20 PM

Bought:
Lake MXZ302
CB Egg Beater SL
Pedalforce CX1 with Easton EC90X
7800 Brifters
Ultegra Compact Crank

Still need to buy a few things, but this is going to be my cross racing bike for the next winter.

desertrat423 02-01-09 10:27 PM

looking at new shoes for me.
wife is getting a whole new bike

hyunelan2 02-01-09 10:35 PM

Looking to get a bigger house to put my bikes in. F the recession, full speed ahead.

I'd like to get a cyclocross bike, possibly a singlespeed. Some new carbon-soled road shoes will probably show up by the end of summer.

Hermes 02-01-09 10:37 PM
