You're not doing your job BF.
On Friday, the government reported Americans' savings rate, as a percentage of after-tax incomes, rose to 2.9 percent in the last three months of 2008. That's up sharply from 1.2 percent in the third quarter and less than 1 percent a year ago. |
I just ordered a Carradice bag from the UK tonight (I know roadies don't know what those are; those are seat bags for older people like me). Ordering direct from their site in the UK right now is much cheaper than ordering from a US dealer.
I also got a closeout DA 7800 derailleur a couple of weeks ago ($80 from fleabay; shifts like buttah). And an $8 chain for my commuter. Later this year I am thinking about stripping my vintage Tommasini (all original Campy) and rebuilding it with new components from the Pope's own component maker. |
Hi,
We spent a bunch of money in '08 including a new roof, solar panels, and an R3. :D Sold two frames, a wheelset, and some aerobars at a swap meet today. So I'm dropping off some hubs at the LBS tomorrow for some new training wheels ('06 Record hubs, various DT spokes, and Velocity Aerohead rims). Hopefully, they'll be <1500 grams. |
My 3rd Toupe' saddle was last week. My new DT Swiss wheels are next week. After that, I have no idea what to buy for my bike. Maybe Capo will have their new stuff available by then... pick up a kit or two. Four full kits just isn't enough.
|
We're working towards adopting a child this year so no new bike for TJ this year. :(
But maybe, just maybe, I can squeeze in a inexpensive CX frame set by he end of the year. |
I'm thinking 09 look 585 and some new pedals. New handle bars might be nice too.
(hinges mainly on ability to sell current frame/bars/other crap laying around) |

Powertap, I'm keen to know exactly how much I suck.

Team kits. A new frame that fits and doesn't have two big dents in the top tube. Another pair of eggbeater pedals, mountain bike shoes, some cyclocross tubular tires.

Joking aside, I got Easton Tempest II wheels. SRAM Force. Sidi shoes. GP4000 tires. Probably something else that I've forgotten. I'd like to pick up a 58 cm bike frame. |
I'm running low on tubes, so I may grab a couple of them this year.
|

Since it looks like education is a low priority when it comes to Washington State lawmakers making the budget, I will most likely be out of a job next year. But...
.. my custom Curtlo should be done any day now. Ginormous toptube, 4 water bottle mounts, and a higher bottom bracket to allow for 200mm cranks. Booyah. Next year I'll be riding it to substitue teaching jobs. |
