Ooooh-you got the limited editions! Major shoe envy esp. the blue ones :) Giro really needs to ramp up their offerings of ltd editions of the Empire-they could really go nuts with some outlandish color ways!

No, actually I prefer them. They're made of a special fabric that tightens nicely. There's a stretchy loop on the tongue to put the laces through so they don't flop around. I'm not someone that retightens their shoe mid ride so the laces work and to be honest, they stay tight the entire ride.

I have the blue shimano R320's as well but still prefer the Empires - I reach for those the most.

The camo mtb ones walk very well as well...I've done tons of hiking in them since I suck on the mtb.

I agree, I liked their facebook page since they do first friday 50's every month of all limited edition stuff. Every now and then they have really nice stuff but its pricey. I did pick up a pair of their ltd leather gloves in blue to match the shoes, they're slightly off color but they're comfy as hell.

My latest (and biggest rto date) eBay purchase: 2011 Felt Z6 with 25 miles on it.

Yes, I know the 25 miles is implausible, but when I saw the tire treads and the string that once held the price tag hanging from under the saddle, I now believe it. It literally looks like it's right out of the original box. I paid $900 and the MSRP in 2011 was $1700. I am very pleased with the deal.

The only potential drawback for me is the Microshift pair of shifters with the Shimano 105 drive train. I'm considering looking for a nice pair of Ultegras to replace them. Any opinions on that?

I am also thinking about "canabalizing" my Allez Elite by swapping the wheels. The Felt came with Mavic CXP22 wheels and I have upgraded Reynolds Solitudes on the Allez. What do you think?

I'd love your input on what you think about making these 2 changes in the Z6 -- the shifters and the wheels. Thanks!!

[QUOTEbianchi10;16263240]Bought a cannondale evo conical spacer. Looks much better than the bubble spacer that comes on the supersix (non evo).

Nice find. Those CXP22's are heavy beasts to be sure, though. I weighed them at well over 2,000 grams total (no tires or cassette).

This is one I'm excited about, as I can now see my apps on my phone while riding. As this is my first bike mount for my phone I have no other product to compare. Yet I looked at a bunch before making a decision, and the Quad lock looked the best. I got the bundle with the rain poncho. http://www.quadlockcase.com

it looks great on my phone and bike. Very minimal (not bulky) and is very secure. When I put the poncho on there is no performance issues with the touch screen on my phone. Highly recommended.
Also there is a 10% coupon on their site.

Yeah, those Reynolds wheels are too good to let sit. They just don't want to stop rolling!!

I can beat that by 100 grams... but it was under $100.
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=351996

It's an upgrade from a stock alloy post. Just waiting for the torque key to arrive so I don't crush it with my he-man strength.

I selected it based on this review, to reduce road buzz.

That is supposedly the most comfortable seat post according to the test you pointed out, but it is heavier than the EVO post and people here don't care about the cost because they want the lightest, which surprises me that the EVO was purchased because at the SAME Fair View Bikes that sells the EVO they also sell the Extralite Ultrapost for the same money as the EVO except it's about 15 to 20 grams less.

Personally I would have a bit of problem sitting myself down on such lightweight carbon posts made in Asia, the thought of one breaking and sending it up a hole designed for discharge, kind of freaks me out a tad. I think the Enve post would be a tad heavier but much more trustworthy since it's made in America, but that's just my opinion.

f4rrest 11-22-13 09:57 AM

Yes, I was being clever: FSA post is 100g heavier, hence it "beat" the Evo by 100 g (lol, right?). If it were 100g lighter, then it would weigh only 13g.

Maybe someday we'll have 13 gram seatposts, probably not in my lifetime though, which there isn't much left to my lifetime!!!

Adrianinkc 11-22-13 10:40 AM

I bought a Castelli Gabba short sleeve jersey and it may be the best piece of kit I have. The thing rocks not only in wet weather but also cold windy days.

I believe you are referring to the extralite 250mm post which weighs 99gms, for a 350mm post the Extralite is 20gms heavier than the Newultimate at 136gms

New belt for my rollers.

Cue 11-22-13 10:32 PM

Instead of ultralight seatposts, I got a seatpost that's super long, and light.

Contour+2 cam from ebay… pretty cheap. I know maybe not as good as the go pro hero3… but for my use it's fine.
