Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Picked up a Kabrio HT helmet from Dotout. Anyone familiar with this brand? It was on sale for $120 so I figured I'll give it a try, so far so good.

I haven't had a chance to install them yet, but I have tested a pair on a friend's bike. I like them well enough to buy them, and I'll comment on them in a few weeks.

Not a fan of Thomson X-2 or X-4 stems. I cracked 2 X-4 stems at the 12 o'clock point where it clamps the steerer tube. Thomson replaced the first one, but after it happened again on the replacement, I lost confidence in that model. I wish the still sold Thomson Elite stems.

It doesn't look like what I just purchased. Is it an older model?

The X2 installation instructions say to leave 3mm of steerer protruding through the top. The picture above looks like the top might have squeezed down on the open end of the steerer tube a bit and hence the crack. I wonder if the instructions that came with the cracked stem have this same requirement.

That is a Thomson Elite stem.

Ftr, my stems both cracked on the other side of the steerer tube, and they were installed as specified by Thomson.

It's from the mountain bike.

The problem was not the installation, but the repeated crashes.

And clicking "Go to first new post" doesn't work? Several threads that act the same way around here.

It's happening in a lot of long threads. It seems to have started after they "upgraded" their software.
