Usually the 'unthreaded' stems people refer to, are those without threads below a certain point. Not sure I've found a tube without the threads that the cap can't screw on at least -- which are the threads a threaded pump use.
Examples: Michelin "unthreaded" tube (except those for the valve cap) -- usually my go-to tube favorites. Continental typical threaded valve stem - what's the point of all of that threading anyway? |

I was looking at those tires. Let me know how you like them
Will do. Reviews look pretty good. Manager of my trek shop got them in and was excited to see someone try them out. They have to be quicker than the GR1. |

4IIII is much better than Stages too! Battery life 4x longer, warranty 3x longer, etc. |

Would be interested to know that too (if he actually went through this process instead of ordering a new left arm w/ PM from 4iiii).

Too bad I got mine a few weeks before their 3+ went out (you can enable GPS using Apple's ''track my'' feature which is a great theft protection)...

Since I bought the crank with the built in power meter and watching a couple of videos on Shimano crank removal, had to buy a dust cap removal tool as well as a pair of risers for the aerobars so I can regain access to the bar tops.

Aged Brooks Professional Saddle
Picked up an aged and imperfect Brooks Professional saddle for $30. It’s the starting point and the first piece of of the next vintage bike rescue project. The bike to be rescued has yet to be identified.

Finally was able to get a 120mm 1.25" stem for my project Canyon Ultimate...first one was a FSA that got lost in the mail. This is a Richey stem. Now I just need the replacement crankset and this thing will be done. This was a frame that acquired, the components I already had. The frame had some minor damage to the drive side chainstay, I DIY'ed the repair and it came out great. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...7f5977a697.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...4e9f770a83.jpg |
2 Ultegra 12sp chains from Merlin Cycle (for 30$ CND / 22$ USD, that's a bargain!) in preparation of my next season, and a few quick links since I am a chain waxxxxxer.

2 pairs of the Specialized Torch 1.0. Only showing one shoe of each color but the cross matching does look cool.

Guy locally was selling a bunch of bike parts he had as he is moving and did not want to take it with him, so I picked up a couple of 11-34 105 cassettes for my FX and my wife's FX. Got them for $35 each and they were new in the box. This worked out perfect as we are looking to take a trip to Georgia in January, and will need some lower gears.

Am I going to get in trouble for posting MTB? Anyway, new bike day...I've been wanting to replace my existing XC race bike, but have been waffling on what exactly I wanted to replace it with. Finally bit the bullet and picked up a brand new Santa Cruz Blur. She's a bit on the chunky side compared to my old Spesh Epic, but 1/2 the weight difference can be accounted for in the wheels/tires...I'll run my old wheelset on this bike when I'm racing. The other half can be accounted for mostly in longer suspension and the dropper post. Modern XC is becoming quite technical and I think I'll appreciate the 120mm F/115mm R travel of this bike over my 100/100 Epic. The dropper post is also a big deal IMO. The Epic was pretty weight-weenie as far as FS mtbs go, but I'm one of the heavier guys in my class, so I think the added suspension capabilities will be of more benefit that a couple pounds of bike weight.
Never mind the big, uncut steerer and the dorky stock pedals. I'm still playing around with fit and my Garmin powermeter pedals will go on it before my first "real" ride: https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...ae4e13f508.jpg Also got this with the bike, just need to install: https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...17ac1fcc0d.jpg |

Yea I was only going to buy a few, but my wife has some arts and craft tools that use some of the random sizes that the bike don't typically use, so its not like they wont be used.

2 pairs of Vittoria Pave CG Open Clincher 25c tires, and a pair of Vittoria Competition Latex tubes. Got the tires on a stupidly low price, so I thought I would try the combo of the tires and the tubes to see how subtle the ride will be on my Lynskey this coming spring.
