Rumor is that the next version will be an implant with a USB cable port installed in your choice of orafaces.:thumb:

It's those long stupid headphone wires that are annoying, not the size of the player. Clipping the shuffle to your helmet strap and running a 9 inch wire to your ear is the way to go (if you can solder).

The Apple earbuds SUCK. You don't realize how tinny they sound until you replace them.

i just washed, no not on purpose, my iPod Shuffle. it was the one generation with the clip. guess what it isnt water proof. not sure i like the idea of the new one having the controls on the cord of the ear buds. i may just pick up the older version for $49. later.

I have plenty of contemporary music on my iPod troll breath. Hey, instead of a pony, we should really get you one of these, all things considered:

Why would you want to see an iPod video display when you're jogging or cycling? I use playlists or just choose the 'shuffle' mode when I'm using the Shuffle anyway. You can't beat it for $49. I clip it to my bib strap and I can operate the Shuffle right through the Lycra on my jersey like a Star Trek communicator. Cool.

I agree. I feel like captain Kirk as I am always searching for songs!

ridethecliche 03-13-09 10:30 AM

I like the old shuffle just fine. Hopefully they won't phase those out completely.

I might just buy a 2 gb one off ebay to have one as a backup.

Wait a minute there g. It's YOUR ipod. It's YOUR music (that you have listened to often enough). YOU put it on your iPod. So please explain, in detail, citing your sources, how the F you wouldn't know what you're listening to WHILE you are actually listening to it.

It's not that complicated. I have more than 3000 albums. I frequently put, wait for it.... new music on there.

That's too many albums g. But I must admire your eclectic musical tastes. That's cool.

If you like bluegrass, you must enjoy these guys:

http://www.coolfer.com/blog/blog/images/NickelCreek.jpg

I have all their albums. They are contemporary. Or they were until the band broke up. Oh well.

gsteinb 03-13-09 10:52 AM

Yeah I have their stuff. A friend of mine is friends with that cute heart throb fiddle player.

Way back when I had started a now playing thread to see what other folks were listening to. As regards cycling and training it seemed to me to be a far more useful and relevant thread than most of the inane crap that's posted on here.

patentcad 03-13-09 10:55 AM

If you have a problem with Inane Crap then BF may not be the place for you g.

I happen to be the Inane Crapmaster, so I speak with some authority on this.

Can you recommend any other cutting edge bluegrass stuff along the lines of Nickel Creek? They are one of my favorites in recent years. If you like N. Creek, one of the N.C. boys hooked up with another musician and just released an album I really liked called Fiction Family.

You really should listen to Nickel Creek, they might surprise you. Seriously.

But in retrospect, that does sound pretty stupid. A perfect Friday BF Post, I'd say.

Second Mouse 03-13-09 11:46 AM

Nickel Creek was a little....cute....for my tastes. Great musicians, but a lot of popgrass mixed in with the bluegrass.

Greensky Bluegrass is good fun. They've got some live stuff online if you want to take a listen.

Kelrod 03-13-09 12:24 PM

Should your intelligence level ever rise to the point where you can actually spell 'inferior', your effectiveness on BF will increase exponentially. In the meantime, carry on.

If you really feel compelled to buy that pathetic loser Sandisk crap to save a whopping $25, and then you go on BF to pound your chest about what a smart consumer you are, then you unreachable. Next you can post pics of those nifty Neuvation wheels and your new iBike power meter.
