Well, last night I missed 'American Chopper' on cable where they were doing a 'Livestrong' Harley for Lance.

When is that boring w@nker going to retire again?

If the guy was anything more than a corporate whøre, he'd race (to win) something other than the Tour, AND we wouldn't have to stomach all this 'Livestrong' Texan tax write-off self-promotion bull****.

Both my grandparents died of cancer, and the rest of us probably will to. I don't need some 'celebrity' to build a Harley or create little yellow landfill to remind me.

:D

That's my rant for the day! Now...back to work....

I saw that bike on Leno or Dave. Pretty cool.

HDTVKSS 06-02-05 06:08 PM

I like the dude who does all their decals and stickers and custom paint. He's a classic.

climbo 06-02-05 06:41 PM

Mikey is funny !

ed073 06-02-05 06:45 PM

In every ep, Pauly ALWAYS sez: "I really like the way this bike has come together."

Without fail.

climbo 06-02-05 06:51 PM

and he quits his job...
and Snr. tells him to clean sh1t up, put the tools away where he finds them...

do they show the Hot Rod one also? It's nowhere near as good. I also liked Monster Garage.

ed073 06-02-05 06:53 PM

....and Mikey stands there with a dopey grin on his face while Snr piffs sh1t around the workshop and Jnr whinges about his lot in lfe.

Funny.

Whaddya reckon they charge for one of those things??? Would have to be top dollar.

how Mikey got so laid back when the others are insane is beyond me... he's a classic ! Did you see the one where he made a bike for himself, he's got cartoons and sh1t on it, then a pic of Snrs face in the seat.

Great Biker Build Off is another bike show that is awesome, do you get that? One dude built a bike that sold for $200,000 US. It had hydraulics in the fork to let it come to a rest on the undercarriage frame instead of using a kickstand. It was not my kind of bike but some of the other builders made some awesome stuff, and they go for $50 - $100k USD.

Nah....haven't seen that one. I was guessing about $50k US and up.

My faves were the Blackhawk helicopter one and the copper one they made from bits of the Statue of Liberty. The NYFD one was good too.

climbo 06-02-05 07:07 PM

yeah, the Comanche helicopter one was sick, watching that bird fly was even better. My old team mate flys helicopters for the US Coast Guard, he said he wouldn't go near that thing it's so hard to fly.

Billy Lane from Choppers Inc. (in Melbourne, FL) makes the best stuff on that other show, real stylish classic choppers.

Aprilia RSV 1000 R Factory.

Here I am working out bearing and shaft fits on my next prototype bike and CADing up parts for CNCing in Titanium...and then in the evening watching two well groomed bogans take to a chrome plated piece of mild steel with a hammer.

It's all about balance I guess!

You having a bad day Thyla? 2 semi-rants in 1 page..? ;)

Stay away from Jock :D

Thylacine 06-02-05 09:16 PM

What can I say, I'm a passionate guy :)

531Aussie 06-02-05 09:57 PM

hey Ed, you knocked off yet?

This article reckons Marc Madiot, despite not having long legs, used 180mm cranks all the time.

http://www.bsn.com/Cycling/cranks.html

"For time-trials and mountain stages is it not uncommon for elite cyclists to adopt longer cranks. Indurian, for example used 180 mm cranks in time trials instead of his 175 mm. Jacques Anqueteil, according to Genzling, used, with his 84 cm inseam, 175 mm cranks (and 175mm in TTs). Eddy Merckx with his longer femurs (and 91 inseam) too used 175s-- and often 177.5 mm in TTs and mountain stages. Bernard Hinault (long femured, 83 cm inseam), on the other hand, did not change cranks, using 172.5 mm cranks for all stages. Many shorter cyclists have been known, however, to use 180s. Marc Madiot used, despite a 86cm inseam, always used 180 mm cranks

ed073 06-02-05 10:03 PM

I'm here mate.

Interesting....I remember Monsieur Madiot punching off the front to win Paris-Roubaix solo in 1991, turning the 12 cog on his RMO Liberia like he'donly ridden 5km, not 255km.
Hendrik Redant was nearly a dead-set cert to win......before a long wait for a spare.

Do you reckon he gets in McGee's ear these days telling him to strap on the monster levers for TTs/mountain passes??

531Aussie 06-02-05 10:06 PM

has McGee been using longies?

Maybe.....but with all his leg speed from all those world records, he may not need to.
